As some may have notice --- or not. I had removed BB: Falling towards the Abyss.

Why? Because I felt it wasn't something that fit well into the overall scheme of Bikini Beach in itself. This universe was created by the works of someone else whom I greatly admire but...

As with ones writing we find as the creators we go in a direction that others would not want in that universe. For me (and not those of Elrod) I found myself in such a state. I greatly admire what he had created and as I continued to write even with our constant communications of where I can go (to which I'm sure he has quietly deleted my e-mails when sent before opening) ;'P The problem kept surfacing. So much so that no matter how hard I tried I found myself drifting back to places I know would not fit in said universe and so I removed them.

This is not to say that I've abandoned Mel. Far from it. It's just that I found myself at a quandary on how to tell 'MY' story without harming Elrod's world.

And so hence forth any story concerning Mel and possibly others will be marked as follows:

BB Mirror Verse:

As with being noted as FANFICTION.

This has been noted to Elrod myself. We are not parting ways I guess but my need for said creativity is hampering me and so I do what I think needs to be said and done.

Don't expect fast tellings. I'm notorious for my lag's between stories but then if you've never had to deal with A.D.D. and no meds you'll never understand. But it will be done.

Soon I will just give a prelude of what I'm saying and going. For those that have issues (trust me I know I do) be forewarned. I'm not out for approval even if given. I'm out to tell a story whether liked or not. So don't send any criticism to Elrod. He will have 'NOTHING' and I mean nothing to do with said universe.

Don't bitch to him about how Grandmother may react suddenly or Anya being out of character for they will be my ideas not his.

Sincerely

Ibi

I believe that this devil is not as black...

Marking the story as fan fiction should more than suffice to explain and allow for drifting away from the strict BB canon, I think. It is a mostly accepted rule. If Elrod explicitly has something against this story being published at all, this might justify removing it - but has he?

As for having ADD and no meds - welcome to the team...

He's aware

Part of the problem that some may not think of is that he has given his blessing to authors, myself included, to write stories or provide details to others that many take as canon.

And as for my wanting to mark it as such there is the reason. Some may overlook, that I've marked it as Fanfic and think it is canon. How many have forgotten the markings of others or ignored them when they come across some stories over the internet that was not really set in that ones universe?

How many have written ones marked them as Fanfic? How readers on canon stories referenced parts of that Fanfic one causing others to believe it's part of the canon universe.

He's actually the one that helped provide the naming convention. And if he choses he knows he can contact me if he feels its worthy to be considered canon.

PS I've been part of that unwanted team for nearing 6 decades. The next class reunion not far around the corner.

Overlooking your marks is not your problem

It's a problem of the ones that don't notice them. You mark a story as fanfic, you have done what you can to warn the readers. If someone hasn't got the warning, you bear no blame for that.

Alternatively, someone might decide to take your story as a "kind of canon", despite knowing that you marked it as a fanfic. In this case, they are creating a new canon for a new universe, that is NOT the original BB universe - just is derived from it. If Elrod decides that he doesn't like that, he may withdraw the permission for that, and this new universe / canon will be illegal. Until then however, they will be legal, even despite the risk of confusing the two universes.

In short: don't worry about it. By marking your story as a fanfic, you have made everything you need to and can do about it. I say - re-list the story again and hold your head high. To me, you are perfect about it.

Been a while

But the characters of david and mell as a take on the bikini beach universe as far as I'm concerned were a comment on the grandmother can never lose, and its all for the greater good theme, remember the character is not infallible made bad judgements in respect of her own daughter, and when younger used her gifts to transform others because it suited her at the time, especially Joseph grandmother, who she never bothered to try to find, anothe story set in the early days of bikini beach has a man being killed because of her acions and his daughter spending her life suffering because of the consequences, grandmother's and anyas magic in general warps the transformed memories to accept and then forget the transformation sometimes just because grandmother doesn't like the behaviour of the former male, in David's case the transformation saves his life but is still unwanted, he is basically a transsexual, male trapped in a female body, but non of those around him seem to accept thus, and push being more feminine, wear dresses, makeup, like boys, something that if a natural event of a transgender person would be considered torture, he also calls grandmother out for hypocriticaly telling him not to use magic in anger or to punish, when she did so many times when younger, and also flirted with the dark side herself, she is not all powerful and all knowing, and not always right, so fir mell to be heald to a greater standard of behaviour is wrong, even anya has made bad decisions and been fooled, so mell/david not trusting them is only fair, even her adopted mother seems to not accept the boy underneath and not only expect, but push mell to be excited about clorhes and wedding dresses, and of course it does look like grandmother and anya are plotting something (all for davids own good of course) behind mells back, so maybe if the story is ever continued, a darker path may be ok
