Just had to post this after watching over 4 hours the making of Star Wars documentaries.

If you are a HUGE Star Wars fan....stop now, because the story is not a happy ending for you!

Well, back in the mid 90's I worked at a place in the Hollywood biz that used to do 'The Gong show' among dozens of others in its long past and now we did award shows Oscars, Emmys and others.

But at this time we had to move from the building they had used for decades to a new one and we were moving or tossing everything. One of the guys I worked with was the son of the account of the place YEARS ago during the gong show years and one day they moved out of the first place the company had...then to this one and we were doing the next!

During that first move years ago his dad took him down to the place (he was a young teen then) and his dad wanted to move boxes of his paperwork now. Well while dad was doing that, he went to watch the crew clean out all the left behind costumes from 'The Gong show'....

As he watched on as the crew tossed garbage bag after garbage bag into a huge roll-off bin he spotted something of interest! A bag with 2 spandex black suits and white armor with guns....now it becomes vague, I forget if he said it was stormtrooper or biker scout?

Does it mater!

But both sets were in the bags with guns complete and with the studio paperwork backing were they were on 'LOAN" from FOX/Lucas films! He lost it there, dragged off the bags trying hard not to get spotted by the cleaning crew and placed them by his dads car that was quickly filling up with boxes of paperwork.

He asked dad to take the bags...NO!..car is too full now and we have to go.

"Ahh I'll stay...you take this back instead of me and I'll get the bus dad!"

"Get in and forget that shit...its trash!"

Well he gave in or he would get a beating...they drove off. Next day he convinced dad or his mom to take him over and now the bags were gone and the huge bin

Somewhere in an LA trash dump there are 2 full sets of storm/Biker armor with paperwork to back their authenticity...A few years ago a helmet...JUST the helmet sold for 120,000 US$

I told him on the phone.....he cried

You can too......

oh there is worse stories

Someone I know, had as a kid, a very rare bobofet toy(it shot rockets) and threw it out about ten or so years ago along with a bunch of his old toys when cleaning house.

Not to long ago that toy, in mint condition, sold for over a million.

A TOY sold for over a million.

Makes me wonder what some of my old toys are worth.

I tack star wars stuff

shadowsblade's picture

I tack star wars stuff religiously and a million for a toy that was sold on a shelf???

125,000$ I have heard of a 10 out of 10 on unpunched card and 300k for the prototype
but who would pay that much (a million) for something that was not screen used?

I do know this one, the whole bridge set from star trek next gen was tossed....but saved at the last secound

Sony was cleaning house and almost tossed the chariot from ben herr!
