One of my post-retirement projects is to scan all my old negatives (or, where there are no negatives, the prints). I'm posting these on Flickr in addition to my modern, digital photos.

I am particularly proud of the latest (as of this posting) album, which was taken entirely at night of the Christmas decorations for 1999, plus shots of the Moon and the Capital building:

An admirable aim

When you are done, you are more than welcome to scan mine, all 212,000 of them...

There are some nice photos there.

A word of caution though. People will steal. If someone thinks that they can make a quick $$$ by stealing a photo and passing it off as theirs then the will. I had one of mine stolen and the [redacted] made a few hundred bucks before someone pointed it out to me. As I was the ONLY person who would know exactly where it was taken and when and have the travel records the [redacted] did not have a leg to stand on.
A year later, another image was stolen and used in a book again without my permission. I took every image of mine off the internet and from the photo libraries. I'll post low resolution images but that is it.
If you don't mind this happening then great.

but honestly... More cat pictures? Really? :) :)

For those with a lot of

Stickmaker's picture

For those with a lot of negatives I definitely recommend a dedicated film scanner.

To the best of my knowledge, I've never had a photo stolen. However, nearly two decades ago I wrote a carefully researched (one contact was good enough to dig out is manuals from when he flew the plane in the US Air Force and send me a detailed answer to a question) article on the F-104. That has been reprinted without permission multiple times (nearly always including the "Please ask permission before reprinting." request) in several countries.

I have had a lot of cats. They do funny and cute things. Of course "More cat pictures." ;-)

Just passing through...

Forgotten

Thanks for the notice about you photos. And it was more helpful than thought at first, I had forgotten I had an account there.

True but

True but I had photos posted there that I forgot I had posted. So it was nice to have the reminder.
