Those of you who log-in to the site might have noticed SEARCH not working. Those who were not logged in, did not notice.

It took quite a while to figure out when/where this action did/did not work (as the logs are not helpful when trying to discern logins and whatnot when the system is as distributed as ours). Once I figured that fact, I tracked down the bad code, and fixed it.

Don't ask more, it was extremely tedious, and my brain hurts.

Oh Gods. I _hated_ working

Oh Gods. I _hated_ working with solr, and it never really wanted to function correctly.

I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.

Well done Piper

I know only too well (and from bitter experience) that tracking some of those nasty creatures we call 'bugs' can be a horrible experience.
You can end up tying your brain in knots in your efforts to get to the bottom of problems.
I used to get a lot of flack when I insisted upon building a logging system into my work. It made a lot of bugs easy to find but there were some that took ages to crack. After spending almost a week on one, I came to the conclusion that one of the external systems was not working to their published spec. Boy did that cause a ton of pain to head in my direction.
Suddenly and without telling anyone the maker of that system made a software change and 'ding' it all started working again. Did I get any praise for finding a fault in their system? Did I heck. such is the life of the 'bug hunter'.

So well done Piper for sticking at it and getting to the bottom of the problem. There is nothing like the feeling you get inside when you have cracked a particularly nasty and persistent insect that seems to scuttle about all over the place for days eluding your boots (to squash it).
