Yep, Dennis is still disrupting things!

The net result is that for yours truly my whole order of things has been thrown out, okay I know I can be a bit OCD with going riding etc but I can deal with the odd missed or moved ride. However, atm the weather is such that even what looks like a good day can turn to shite quite quickly - for example, today as I type this its cold, breezy but dry, the forecasters have torrential rain coming through in an hour! So I've wimped out, no point in getting soaked for the sake of it, nothing is at stake - well other than my sanity!

On Sunday I did get out for a walk later on, a trip up to and around Frenchay.

Monday was forecast dry so I took to the bike, a route from Avonmouth up to Slimbridge tracing the river bank as near as you can by road. The wind had been mostly behind me so for the return I angled across and up into the Cotswolds to lose a little latitude before turning into the wind. It was a hard slog not made easier by a couple of showers, flooded roads and downed trees but I eventually got back after 6 hours and 145km!

Tuesday would normally be a bike day but after Mondays exertions, even with a similar forecast I turned instead to Shanksy's, another longish walk out to Downend where I grabbed some chips before the return leg.

I had hoped to do some writing afterwards, maybe not Gaby but the makings of a standalone were flitting through the grey matter. But to no avail, whilst the premise is okay, up to now I just can't drop it into a scenario that I'm happy with - oh well.

Some good news - Amazon have actually got the new print version of Dress Up released so all you paperphobes can get your hands on a hard copy version.

Which brings us neatly to todays chapter, Racing Slicks. Its time for the first race in Germany for the BC training school, the Apollinaris gang however have their own agenda in Bavaria.

That just about wraps things up for today, i'll get on with some writing, that way there will be some new stuff for you all to read in the future!

Breaking News! The part for my bike repair has just arrived so tomorrows job (its forecast particularly nasty anyhow) is to rebuild the bike - there goes the nail varnish!

But this corner of the land we've been spared the worst. A weekend ride would be nice, but the conditions are a lottery, so far the forecast is 40mph gusts, which I can manage but it will be a bit arduous.
Happy to hear the words are arriving, even if from random directions.
Edit - Saturday the winds arrived, and morning damp. Hard grind to the (very loud) bridge and lunch.

Its an old story, the guy is a virtual recluse, just riding his bike every day!

Given a good year for me is 10k miles that's 100 years plus riding - an achievement but not a target for a middle aged woman! Over my career on two wheels I've probably done 250k miles, I reckon if I get to 500k I will have done exceptionally well, 400k is more attainable, that's just 15 more years at 10k a year lol by which time i'll be in my 70's so I may slow down a bit then!
