Well, finally got a short chapter up. It is a bear learning a new version of Word. Couldn't find Save As. Couldn't find Find and replace for a long time. Good think it was free ... you get what you pay for. (And it is not pirated ... I got it free through my college.)
One of the files that I lost was my list of character names, so that means I have to go back through 46 chapters and recreate it. And also to save the files to my disk, since the BCTS versions are the only ones I have. That means the next chapter will be at least a week away. Sorry for the delay. Blame Apple.

A new version of Word
I have copies of Microsoft Works Suite 2001 and 2002, which include Microsoft Word. They don't expire. Which is why I am still using Microsoft Word 2002. It used to be upgraded via Microsoft updates but the last time I did a scratch install on my computer (something I find quite useful to do once or twice a decade) Microsoft Word 2002 was no longer supported and there were no updates so I no longer have support for the .docx file format. (Or for a lot of other stuff I never used, like voice recognition.)
I hope you manage to reconstruct your files without too much trouble. Thank you for your stories.
Rebuild
I worked long hours going through all the chapters to rebuild the character list and get a copy on my machine. I’ve figured out the new Word, and gotten a second chapter up this week. But I still need to do the same with all my other stories.
Plus I lost two other stories that were to follow Stone.
