Hoorah!

We are finally in our new home.

The move started at about 12:30 pm Wednesday and finished about 3:30 pm Saturday.

We moved ourselves as I said we'd do and I don't mean to sound as if I knew best because I didn't. Every time we filled the van, more stuff started to appear and at one stage, I was positive that the chattels fairy was following us around, bringing stuff back from the new house and depositing it in the old one for us to move again and again and again.

Argh!

Had Pen not finished work early on Weds, I think it would have taken us longer and by 8:30 pm Friday night, neither of us had the energy to do anything and only just made it in front of the telly for Medium with a slightly burnt pizza and a glass of coke. Sitting down was fine, but getting up to go to bed was painful. Still, that's it for at least the next six months - hopefully the next year and then only if this move has stopped hurting by then.

I have just got broadband up and running (ADSL I think you Yanks call it) - hence this missive, so thanks to all those who wished us well for the move - it must have worked, because here we are :)

Now I'm back on-line with a faster connection, but it means nothing. I'm still just as slow at typing, just as annoyingly slow at cobbling together my stories and just as useless at finishing my saga, otherwise known as Second Sight. So for what it's worth, I shall be trying my best to bring Cliffside to your screens as soon as I can, but I can't promise it will be quick.

That's it from me, I need a shower and then I have cooking to deal with.

Thanks again for the support.

Love

Relax!

You now know you have muscles that you don't use very often! I hope you don't have to use them again soon.

What's "Medium"? Is it somewhere between "Small" and "Giant Economy Size"? Or something like that golfbag that Gabi's going on about, which may be "One Size Fits All"
:-) Jo

sizes

"Medium" is an indifferent television series about a psychic defective (sorry detective). When it started, it was the reason for the resurrection of an old joke, about the all points bulletin from the authorities looking for a small medium at large.....

Medium, indifferent?

That's your opinion.

We like it, but then we also watch NCIS, True Blood, Dexter, CSI, Warehouse 13, Dollhouse, Fringe, A Town Called Eureka, Criminal minds and are just about to get into the new Stargate series.

I suppose someone has to watch these things and we're the ones who do.

Congratulations!

What a glorious day it is for you!

Where you can fool around like you want to and most you get is some bemused good ribbing!

Nick you suffered from the domestic addendum to Parkinson's Law

Remember C Northcott Parkinson and his rule

"Work expands to fill the time available."

This is the domestic variant,

"your personal posessions expand to fill the space/time available,"

Or is that part of quantum phyics?

Quantum of domesticity

The quantum of domesticity is the warranty for the appliance you no longer own lying in the drawer on top of your expired flood insurance rider.

Hugs,

Expansion of possessions...

You're definitely right there and now everything we own is so much closer to hand; so close in fact, that for three days, we couldn't get to the front door :)

I don't think it's part of quantum physics, that's string theory and we had surprisingly little of that holding our stuff together.

We did however learn to fill the space we had and now we have much less of it, we have to learn how to empty the space we don't have.

I think that's definitely quantum physics, requiring us to have a house that's bigger on the inside than it is on the outside.

Now I'm very confused as well as aching.

on the wire coat hangers in locked wardrobes and socks and washing machines... having moved a few times recently I know the feeling. You lose tons of stuff and still there's more tons. Hey I did mention a Radox bath.

Wow there's a full on hail storm here right now, good thing the car's under cover. The street outside looks like ice, lots and lots of little white peas. Have to take the pups out for a sniff when it settles.

Congrats on getting settled again Nick.

TARDIS, John...

Time And Relative Dimension In Space...

I was into that from the days of Patrick Troughton.

Sadly, I don't think it's got that kind of pull. Certainly not for me anyway.

Nevertheless, the technology might be neat to get my hands on, providing it doesn't come with its own cyberman :(

Then it would be time to hide behind the sofa again...
