The Internal Revenue Service actually has real live caring,
understanding people working for them...

...well one at least. The gentleman I spoke to explained that they had not received our federal filing for 2006. Fortunately I have a copy of the return. When you don't send yours in, or they don't have it, after a period of time it is automatically filed via a default which goes by the least beneficial status. So our married filing jointly becomes single, and the default doesn't take exemptions or deductions into account, even for a single person so the maximum tax allowed for the gross NON-adjusted income becomes $12,374 instead. We have paid more than enough, and are actually due a refund from what they took, and they are going to stop garnishment. Thanks for all your support and prayers.

By way of introduction, I wanted you to meet the new me, or at least the new 'toon me (OH NO, NOT THE DIP - watch out Nick). I haven't any pictures of me as Andrea, so this is the closest approximation. Note that I'm considerably bigger than my other pics, which are closer to how my mom might have looked at my age if she had been healthier and happier.I might use that persona and its various permutations if it suits a comment, but this will be my signature pic from now on. Thanks for understanding the fears and concerns of a girl who's still way back in the closet. Love you all!

That's great news, Andrea

That's great news, Andrea!
It's nice to know that a big feared government agency has at least one person who cares.
I love the new 'toon you!
