As I get older, I'm more inclined to let it all hang out and let the Devil take the hind most.

Of late, I've been going out more and trying top pass less. I just want to be me and if anyone has a problem with who I am, then it's their problem. Funny thing is it seems that the less I try to pass when I'm en femme, the more I do.

I took my birthday (March 1st) off and dressed pretty girlie. I kind of wanted go out for the day, but my budget didn't have room to do much, so stayed home. I did go grocery shopping. I was wearing my black side zip slacks with a sash belt and a faux twin set with a rather nice over jacket. My only make-up was some burgundy lipstick. My cashier was a young lady I don't usually see, since I shop mostly on weekends or evenings. She was very cheerful and chatted with me as she rang up my purchases. A man in his late thirties or early forties was bagging my groceries and as the transaction concluded, he looked right at me and asked, "Would you like some help out Ma'am?" I figure one of two things accounted for that question. One, Safeway has had some very good training programs on customer relations and dealing with the transgendered, or two, he looked a the clothes and my lipstick and decided that even if I was the ugliest woman he'd ever met, I still deserved to be called Ma'am.

Even when I'm not trying to dress girlie, I try to dress in an androgynous fashion. The vast majority of my clothes I wear when I'm in masculine mode, come off the women's rack. Ever notice how masculine women's fashions have become?

My wife and I go to church every Sunday and Wednesday, just like clockwork. My church clothes for Sunday consist of two outfits which I rotate. I have two pair of Worthington Slacks I bought at J C Penney's. One pair is a kind of brownish grey and the other is black. I team the brownish grey with a black moleskin Big Shirt and the black with a greenish grey moleskin Big Shirt. Both shirts are from Woman Within and the buttons say so, though you'd have to get pretty close to see that. My shoes are penny loafers I bought from Zappos online (women's size 12W) and of course I under-dress 24/7. I have a women's Columbia Sportswear jacket I wear in inclement weather. I'm quite proud of it, because my wife picked it out for me. We were at an upscale Goodwill store looking for some camp clothes when she decided she needed a new coat and found a nice London Fog for her and next to it was this jacket. She called me over and told me I should buy it, so I did. All this leaves my just over the masculine side of the androgynous line, while wearing all women's clothing.

Well back to the point of this post. Last Sunday, my wife and I decided to go out to lunch after church and went to our nearby Village Inn. We were seated by the hostess and left with coffee to peruse menu. I was wearing the greenish grey shirt and black slacks. My hair was up on the usual high ponytail I wear when in male mode. The waitress walked up from my left side as I looked down at the menu. My wife was also looking at her menu. The waitress asked, "Do you ladies need some more time?"

Well, maybe I'm not so far toward the masculine line as I think. Gotta love it.

Totally!

Yep, just gotta love it when we're recognized for who we are, not the dirty trick nature decided to play on us.
