"Holy FRACK! Where have you been?"

Well, that's a bit of a long story.

Writing before, I was living with someone I believed to be a close, dear friend. However, she had a few... issues. I started getting a little "writer's block", so work on Marked Target stalled. Sorry about that. Well, then I moved to my little idea with Protean Dilemma, which has failed to catch on like I hoped. Probably due to limited content, but no matter. In real life, my friend was battling with some pretty debilitating psychological issues (at least, that's what I'm lead to believe). So, toward the end, it wasn't much of a picnic living with her. Everything was suddenly my fault. It came to a head in late October. I tried to make a valid point and she had a huge breakdown in the middle of the grocery store. Not fun.

Thus, another friend and I were given a week to move out. In this day and age, who the FRACK can find a place to live in seven days? I'm on state aid and she's on SSDI. Neither one of us has the best credit in the world (I have none, which is worse). So, apartment hunting was an ordeal in itself. Even faced some discrimination, which I'm currently in litigation against (trans discrimination is taken seriously in Washington, thank the Goddess). FINALLY found a place and moved in four days before Christmas. That was pretty nice.

So, my lovely friend and I moved into our own place and have been trying to settle in ever since. O... M... G... getting started in your own place is EXPENSIVE. Deposit, rent, electricity, cable... it's crazy, I tell you!

On the upside, we spotted the very computer I'm typing on right this second at a pawn shop... by total accident. Thank the Goddess for happy accidents! It's an amazing machine. I may quote the system specs if asked really nicely in PM. I can FINALLY play Star Wars(TM): The Old Republic, on full graphical settings with NO lag. It's awesome. Bonus: we finally made the last payment and brought it home on "Star Wars Day", May 4. That was PERFECT. xD

So... a lot of it has been hell, but things are settling down. The only concerning thing was I spent most of last week in the hospital because I had some "weird lower abdominal pains" (my words) and found out I had appendicitis. Lovely. So, at 30, I've now had my appendix out. I don't recommend it.

The downfall is that when we got kicked out, I didn't really have a way to save my files to take them with me. I've called the other girl's mom and the files are still on the computer. I just have to go get them. Needless to say, I'm a little reluctant to face that beast again. Still, my desire to continue Marked Target is enough right now that I don't care much. I'll deal with the onslaught if it comes.

So, thanks for reading this and to those who have continued reading my stories in my absence. I appreciate all the comments, PMs, and kudos I've gotten. You shall be rewarded soon.

Make sure...

That you go with a witness just in case anything untoward happens. Good luck in you new place.

Thera.

Yep.

That's pretty much the plan. Thanks for weighing in.

Yeah...

Always a good idea anyways when going someplace where you had a messy relationship, no matter what the reason you have for seeing the person again.

Best of luck, though I must admit to not having read any of your stuff. I might correct that, or not... honestly, there's entirely too much reading material about and it's hard to pick what to read or not. I save a lot of that headache by simply refusing to get into any universes, but even sticking strictly to non-universe stories there's still a lot of reading material...

Abigail Drew.

Thanks.

Yes, always a good idea.

Well, the Comics Retcon Universe isn't for everyone. I understand that. I do have other stories outside of universes that I've written. They're, unfortunately, not nearly as complete as Marked Target. However, I aim to rectify that.

You're sweet.

Well, this is the person that I should have shacked up with in the first place. We get along so well and neither of us are snapping off the handle at each other at the drop of a hat. After 5 months, I'd say that's a really good indication.

Thanks for commenting.

Appendicitis >|<

Well what a coincidence, I had my appendix out at about age 30 also. Sadly I went through 4 appendicitis attacks before the last one forced me to seek help at the emergency room where a bungled 3 hour wait for triage and diagnosis by the ER doctor nearly had be being sent home.

My partner and I pushed it though and was admitted but after another day of diagnosis finally, 24 hours after having entered the emergency room, had a surgeon who FINALLY read the ultrasound correctly basically rush me into the operating room as apparently it was on the verge of bursting leading to lovely peridonitis. Oh yes, the fact that I was pre-op through a few minor monkey wrenches into the who mess too as the original ultrasonic technician panicked and had to call in the doctor to mention I was missing ovaries and uterus. It was kinda a mixed blessing the latter of course as apparently I passed without question and but almost lead to medical misdiagnosis.

Oh I was also a student at the time with no health insurance whatsoever and no income.

Haha Kimmie I can relate. Two

Haha Kimmie I can relate. Two years ago I was having an ultrasound to rule out problems with an abdominal pain that I was having. After checking out the kidneys and liver (apparently okay), the technician was telling me that she was going to check my uterus next. At that point I had to explain the awkward reason why.

Same here.

Yep, gotta love those awkward stories. The problem for me was explaining "intersex" to med school graduates. I mean, WTF are they teaching these people?!

The dialogue:

"What do you mean you don't have ovaries?" asks the nurse (male).

"Well, I'm not entirely sure. I'm intersex and nobody's really done any investigation in there. If there's something there, this would be the first I'd be hearing about it." replies me.

"So, are you male or female?"

"I'm intersex. Yes."

His face slumps to an expression of ill content. "I have to use one or the other..."

And on the conversation went on from there. T_T

Welcome back Danielle

You have been missed. Things will get better now, just relax into it and enjoy.

Welcome back!

You may have noticed there's a new universe you can potentially play in, created by The Retcon Kingâ„¢ (aka EnemyofFun).

Talking of the CRU, one day I'll get around to finishing my Retcon story - I've just got to fit in a day's worth of filler and Rena's first mission, all the time reminding myself it's set in May 2011...

As the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, then only left-handers are in their right mind!

I'm glad to hear that things

I'm glad to hear that things are in a better place for you now. Life is a road that can be full of some hellacious pot holes.

I would like to raise a voice for Protean Dilemma. I enjoyed the tease of the first chapter and would really like some more, please!
