When I had applied to work at Wal-Mart, I had sent applications to all the locations in Edmonton and area, and it was the St. Albert location that called me, interviewed me, and hired me.

The day after I started, I got a call from a much closer store, but as I had been hired already, and you cant transfer until you've worked for a year, I had to tell that store no, feeling like I had been cheated.

Then today something happened that made me glad it had worked out the way it had.

At the start of every shift, we have a little group meeting, and our supervisor told us two little stories.
The first was about the district manager going to the store I had turned down, taking one look at how messy it was, and walking out.

The second story was about a manager of a store in B.C. who was in town for a wedding, and who had come to our store first thing in the morning. He had been so impressed with how clean, how organized, and how friendly we were, that he wrote a letter to our manager praising us.

So once again, something that at first seemed like a bad thing has turned into a very good thing, indeed, and its a good lesson for me.

Some blessings dont seem like blessings when you first see them. They are disguised as challenges or even as "bad luck."

And sometimes, those are the best blessings of all.

I was lying down minding my own business when life came by and drove right over me

So very true.

That has been the lessons of my life. Keep up the positive out look it saves your nerves and allows you to take advantage of things we would other wise miss.
