Okay, you all know that Brandy Dewinter is one of my best friends, and that she has on many an occasion (as in just about every time), infinitely improved my scratchings with her wit, her eye for just the right word, and her ability to ferret out and then help correct story inconsistencies. On top of that, she is one of the best storytellers in our genre.

For reasons of her own, she has ceased posting stories to general archives and instead, posts her stuff to the website she and I share (www.tigger-n-brandy.net). Her older stuff is still on StorySite, Bev's Balcony, and FM, in addition to here at BCTS for any stories she and I co-authored (eventually).

However, I just reread one of Brandy's newer stories over the weekend and have got to tell you, this is one really grrrrrrreat story! The story is Solace, and it is a very fun and very satisfying read.

Not being an online gamer, the first time I read it I got lost in the weeds of the gaming environment that was the setup, and missed out on how good, how rich this story was. This time, I just read the story.

Wow.

Two dew-claws up! Four if tiggers had dew-claws on their hind-feet!!

If you wish, you may post comments on the story to this blog entry and I'll let Brandy know where to read them.

Trust me - a warm cuppa, nice fire in the hearth, your favorite snuggy blanket and this story? I call that a grrrrrreat evening. Hope you will, too.

warm furry hugs,

Tiggs

Solace..

I just finished reading Solace again about a month ago Tiggs! Great story! The two new stories Brandy posted on the site you share, 'Nightwind' and 'Patience' are super stories as well! Several of your own stories are superb reads too Tigger! My very fave of yours is 'A Wish the Heart Makes - Fornever in Blue Genes' with 'A Study in Satin' a close second!! Wonderful stories all!!!

Solace and Nightwind,

two great stories from, arguably, the best damn writer of TG fiction on the net. Tigger, if you do contact Brandy, ask her to check her old gmail addy. I emailed her there. She, and maybe you as well, might remember me better as Cathy_t_.

Love the stories from both of you.

Huggles and love,

Solace for the Win

I really liked Solace. It's slow transformation was matched and paced to the character development of not just the 'real' world characters but their role-playing avatars as well. Part of what it so much fun was the uncovering the mysteries of the game and seeing how those translated out into the real world. So like like Tigger I'm giving it two thumbs up but only because despite my hairy appearance I'm not a great ape with fingers for toes.

Apes' Toes...

Actually, you ARE a great ape, since humans are classified as great apes by the scientific community. But I know what you meant... :P

I'll definitely check out Solace, and maybe some of those others.

solace.

I found it. I read it. Again. and again. and again. and again. One of the best I have read. Simple. Easy to follow. Fun. What else is there. I recommend it to everyone. Along with all her other stories.

Excellent story!

I loved Solace!

Very well-written and page-turning fun!

Is there any chance of a sequel some time?

Not sure. Brandy muse is a remarkably flexible and free-flittering spirit. I don't think she's ever left a story with more she feels she needs to write. She'll like the wine company, and publishes no story before its tome . . . Err. . . time.

Tiggs

Thanks for the reference

Thanks for pointing them out, I've just spent the weekend reading Solace and enjoyed it so much I carried on with Nightwind which were every bit as good as the other commenters had suggested. Please pass on my thanks to Brandy.

YAY!!!

I have just recently discovered the new genre of 'litrpg', and have been devouring it. This has all the good parts of that, as well as the trans part as well. I love it!
Not only that, but it let me find two of my most favorite authors again.

Thank you for a GREAT story.
