So I was watching cops, as there was nothing on TV... The episode was originally aired on November, 25th, 2006... It is either entitled "Bad Girls 10" (which is Season 19 episode 9) or just entitled "Coast to Coast" with no episode number, depending where you look.

The episode at one point, has a cop pulling over a male, for suspicion of soliciting prostitution, and then questioning him.

The cop radios for backup, and a female officer comes on scene. She finds the suspected prositute, and questions her. She figures out that "Pocahontas" is actually "male" and a "cross-dresser".

The female officer remaks how good "he" looks, and how convincing "he" was. And then arrests "him" because he was a warrant for violation of probation.

The female officer, then walks over to the "john" and says, and this is a paraphrase as best I can remember... 'Did you know that your girlfriend over there, is a Man? He cros-dresses. They like to get young men like yourself so that they can murder them and such"....

REALLY? All cross dressers are prostitutes whom like to murder men? REALLY?

If I could find a free link to view it online, I would post it.

IT's available via Amazon Video on Demand, but not as a free episode, and it doesn't appear to be available via HuLu either :( Here is a link to the "pay to watch" episode on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Bad-Girls-10-Special-Edition/dp/B000MX...

I know the cops often say stuff for the camera sake, so that they make it on TV, but it just made me sit up in bed and SCREAM at the comment.

Crossdressers murder men...

Maybe it's for the best. It was getting harder to dispose of the bodies.

I mean, umm... That's outrageous! We would never do that! Never! Never ever ever!

Ever!

Not ALL cross-dressers

I believe what she's saying is the those cross-dressers, that act like prostitutes (I don't say ARE prostitutes, because they aren't planning to actually give sex), but don't advertise their gender (pretend to be female), are doing it for nefarious reasons, such as mugging/ robbery, and murder (usually to facilitate robbery). The reason for this is once they are hired, unless they limit there activities (by using only hand, or mouth), it will become obvious they're not what the John was looking for. Of course to scare the John into stopping what he's doing she STARTS with the worst outcome, and glosses over the rest (and such).

Those cross-dressing prostitutes that advertise what they are just have the usual risks from any prostitute, disease, some mugging, and the occasional assault, or psycho killer.

And of course nothing about cross-dressing non-prostitutes is implied at all.

What she's doing ...

What she's doing is lying to scare or at least annoy the john they arrested.

And yes, she does imply that this is something all crossdressers do because she did not restrict her accusation; she didn't state it but what she did do is what imply means.

I agree, Piper.

I do not watch such shows. If viewers were to voice their outrage, perhaps the network will stop airing such blanket statements.

A serious problem?

I think part of the problem is, that way too many cops watch way too many cop shows.

I know this a so called "reality" show, and that they are playing to the camera. But the behavior you see has been influenced by all the Television & movie fiction. Unfortunate it seems this often goes for their normal off camera behavior to.

The problem is in most shows everyone is always guilty and the cops are justified in pulling whatever shenanigans are necessary to get the outcome they want, an arrest, information, scare someone off, whatever. I don't say this is universal but it has become all too common. Your guilty just because they suspect you are, and cops always sense these tings, right? and of course they are justified in doing what ever it takes, since you are guilty. I fear just that too many have let the mind set of such shows effect them. "The cops are always right and everyone they encounter is guilty", "Up to something etc".

In this case I would say they were trying to scare the john off. And that the statement does come off as a blanket one, that blanket part might not have been the intention, but I am sure the cop did not care either, "hell a little over kill can't hurt, can it?" Mission accomplished, as long as it scares the guy off.

Of course they don't even think of the over all impression such a blanket statement perpetuates. Or they just don't care, Since, well.... "goal accomplished".

And this kind of scary on more then one level when you think about it.

I think you are making a leap of logic

that isn't there. I do not detect any implication or indictment of all crossdressers in that statement. I have noted a general tendency among many here to automatically assume the worst about some people ie that all non tg people who do not expressly say they agree with it are out to get them in a manner of speaking. Everybody is just waiting to be offended.

Just because you're paranoid

Doesn't mean they're not out to get you.

There was a serious anti-tg rant going on over on the Being Feminist page on FB the first of the week. Nasty, cruel, vindictive statements showing just how bigoted even many of the feminist/equality people are. It's a darn sight safer to expect prejudice and be surprised than to expect fairness and be rudely surprised.

well I could have predicted that

Feminists and the militant gay rights people (key word being militant) are not the friend of the people they claim to represent. They have another agenda entirely

The reason with feminists, at

The reason with feminists, at lest the Radical feminists, (an actual kind of feminism rather than just a descriptor) is that they believe that there are no differences between men and women psychologically except for what is imposed on people through their society. So TG people aren't women born in a man's bodies (or visa-verse) they are just men that are deluding themselves for some sick reason.
