Had a strange day yesterday

So as you may remember, I got a new job at the end of July and started on the 30th of that month. Well about 2 weeks ago, they told us that we had to do an orientation thing, where they could tell us all about our job, show us where everything is and stuff like that. Like I haven't learned where all the stuff I need is at after a month there.

Well, it was put off because we were scheduled to work that night. Keep in mind I work 11pm to 6 or 7 am and this meeting was 6 pm to 10 pm that week. They told us last week that it was this week, yesterday to be exact. Well, one of the other new people and myself both get there and no one had any idea what we were there for. Thats when we get told it wasn't until the 19th (so yet another day where we get to lost about 3 or 4 hours of work, and then they offered for us to work, or go home and return 6 hours later. Well, I decided to stay, but it just surprises me that even the Store director knew we were to show yesterday, but no one told anybody that the date got changed. The other thing is that it is for people who have been there for less than a month and by time the next one rolls around, I will have worked for 30, and have been employed even more. So I can't see why I have to do it.

So a typical case of the left hand not telling the right hand what it is doing.

As for my writing, I am working on a lot of changes, because I didn't like how things were going on, so give me a day or two till I try and get something out

Thanks

Typical orientation

You learned something about how the company works, didn't you? :)

I was in the army, we did this kind of thing every month or two.

My day wasn't strange to start

but it became so during the afternoon when I came out to my car from visiting a patient's house to find the window of the driver's door had been hit by a ball bearing and was all crazed just waiting to fall out, or as happened, in. It's surmise but I suspect I'd been the victim of vandalism, probably perpetrated by teenaged or younger boys.

Good laugh eh? Cost me £75 to repair, or my insurance excess was, plus several elderly patients lost out as I had to abort the rest of my domiciliaries to go and clear the glass. A couple more lost out when I had to make the car available for repair of the window this afternoon.

Were I to find out who did it, I think I'd just like to know why?

I work for a logistics company as a driver, ferrying material to and from our warehouse to the production plant of the company we serve at that warehouse. So I get to see first hand the goings on at our client's plant. I often say not only does the left hand not know what the right hand is doing, it doesn't even know there is a right hand.

Could be the case where you work as well.

Patricia
