Books on tape...sort of

Hi All! Happy Easter! An idea has been percolating in my mind of late, and I wanted to see if there is anyone else out there who has had one similar...Has anyone ever thought of taking some of the more complete (finished) stories in here and record them for visually impaired readers? Perhaps they aren't visually impaired...but slow readers or those who struggle with reading in general. I wouldn't have a clue what would be needed - other than someone with a good reading voice and able to interject tonal and vocal inflections within the story.

A Love So Bold

LoveSoBold_0.jpgA Love So Bold
by Anon Allsop

I am so thankful that I have finally gone back through the edit's and FINISHED with A Love So Bold. It is amazing to me that my editor JP has read through my book not once...not twice, but three times. I myself have probably been through it at least six times since I have written it. It is officially done and I am slowly posting it here online. Each time I post it, I re-read it again just to be certain that it is flowing smoothly. This story is a true labor of love and has gobbled up much of my free time.

Many here would probably agree that unless you write, a person can't really fathom how much of an author's soul goes into a story...how much it becomes an extension of yourself. This story was that way with me. I'm just happy and thankful that it has turned out as well as it did. I appreciate everyone who has read and commented on it, hopefully you will continue and enjoy it to the end. If anything, I hope it helps people forget about their daily troubles if for only a little while.

My newest story...

For many years a story idea had been mulling around in my head. The idea was based on a family traveling upon the Oregon Trail. Around June of 2014, I began to dabble with the formulation of the story and as it took off, I wrote as often as I could.

In January of 2015 I had 'finished' it and sent it off to my most trusted Editor, JP. He went through it one time, sent it back and I tweaked it and resent it to him for another go around. The story has gone through at least three 'tweaks' since it was first written.

A Love So Bold - My attempt at writing an actual book

So, I've written a behemoth of a book. It is well over 400kb, 100,675 words, 221 pages of 12 point type...ugh! It is currently being previewed by someone I trust explicitly, for continuity, and just plain feedback to let me know if it is worthy enough to publish. I've written some long stories, most of them are on here... I just wanted to see if I could pull off something more like an actual book.

It will probably be written in my 'other' pen name: D.L. Lanholder

Gah! Crashed computer during writing....all was lost!!!

It's been one of those days! I had been writing a very effective dialogue between two people and it was just clicking along. I couldn't get over how well the story was coming along...and then, kaaaapooooowwww! I got the blue screen of death! Lost it all...sigh! Trying to remember what I typed once again...remember, save early, save often!!!! Gah!

Job finding frustraitions...

I am soooooo frustrated right now. On April 8th, 2011 my employer of 21 years decided to liquidate the company and me and about 30 other coworkers were basically shown the door. We knew it wouldn't be good when we got word they were 23 million in debt. I'm trying to do the right thing and have sent out countless resume's as well as fill out applications but no one...NO ONE...is calling back. I think in the entire year I have only had 2 interviews...just 2...ugh!

'A Quiet Strength' - Coming Soon!

A short while ago I placed a post here about a story idea that I was mulling around in my head of a single father and his child who is in a m2f transition. I wanted the story to focus more on the father's turmoil of dealing with a 'transitioning' child than with the child itself. I had a pretty good idea of how I wanted to start the story and where I wanted it to end...just no real idea of how to get from 'A' to 'B' so I 'put it out there' and people responded.

Formulating a story idea...

Hi All!

I am mulling a short story idea over and over in my mind. It would involve a young M2F trans girl and her estranged father (mother is no longer in the picture - not sure why yet). In the story, she (the trans girl) desperately wants him to attend her 'life wedding' but he is 'hung up' on her being a trans person...he can't get past the thought of her once being his son. Cookies & Then Some...

After recently posting Part 3 of the Yankee Belle and Gettysburg - A TWILIGHT ZONE story, I decided to start my day and set out to make Christmas cookies using my Grandmothers recipe...big mistake, she had thirteen children! I should have had my first clue when it called for 3 cups of sugar, 4 eggs and 10 cups of flour! When I finished, I had approximately 20 dozen Christmas cookies! I could feed them to a small army...I guess most will become gifts to friends and relatives. I couldn't go any farther today and decided to hold off and ice them tomorrow...I'll be able to sit to do that.

wanting to live the life of the characters I write about...

This is in general to other authors who write. Have you ever wanted to live the life of the characters that you write about? I often feel this way, especially when the character is like Christine in my 'Christine's Love' story. She personifies everything that I find fascinating in a female. On a side note, often when I write, I find that I place myself into the story and strangely enough, I seem to sense how they would respond...I find it strange but possibly it really isn't, as I am sure that other authors do this themselves. I'm sorry, I'm rambling...I really need to get to writing.

Anon Allsop - Christine's Love - Story Updates

Hello All!

I just thought I'd let anyone know who may be interested in following my stories that I will be posting the story 'Christine's Love' in four parts with the first part going up today. I have several, what I consider would be my 'behemoth' (in size) stories that I want to migrate to BigCloset | TopShelf. These will take awhile and I thank you for your patience.
