I'm insulted. Yup, insulted! I went to Amazon and bought Katie's book "Unreachable" (wonderful story, recommend it to everyone) in Kindle format, downloaded the app for reading Kindle on a PC, and had a wonderful time reading yesterday. And then today...

Ran across an interesting story about how 2 parents are trying to raise 'genderless' children. It's interesting reading and gives me hope that someday our race will mature.

Just read an article by Tom Blackwell, (National Post · Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010) about new guidelines for dealing with transsexual military personnel. Good article, and the closing comment by Cpl. Murray is perfect. "There shouldn't be any issue at all. We're just regular people doing a regular job, the same job as everybody else."

Oasisba, formerly known as Sweet Basil, is stirring up its business by having servers dressed as drag queens. At first glance, it may appear the new name is the only thing different at the restaurant on Glisan Street and 17th Avenue, but once you go inside, the change is clear.
I have a hobby that some others here also seem to like. I'm a shutterbug. I love to take pictures. I'll go miles out of my way to find something to take a picture of, and I'll stand around doing nothing while waiting for the light to be 'just right'. And sometimes, I just stumble across something worth shooting.
Yesterday, I stumbled across something worth recording. I have to admit I didn't ask permission to take these pictures of her swimming, but I figured she wouldn't mind because after all, she was swimming in a pond right beside the road... and she wasn't wearing any clothes!
A teacher who is transitioning F to M was fired by a school board because "his gender change from woman to man is not aligned with the teachings of the Catholic church or its values." And he's fighting back, using Alberta's human rights act. Going to be interesting seeing how this case ends, because he's fighting the Catholic church.
