Moxie

by Melanie Brown

Ayumi did it before, can she do it again?

Moxie on Kindle

She stayed in Japan after the breakup of her first J-Pop band, Texas Belles. The other American members went their own ways, some of them back to the states.

But no one in Japan ever knew Sam, the American bass-playing boy who joined his sister’s band and helped make them a hit. Sam is Ayumi now, as real as a girl can get. And she wants to keep doing what she does best.

Can she put together another band, one made up of misfits and rejects from the Japanese way of doing Big Music? Does she have what it takes to deal with the personalities, the fans, the corporate interference getting in the way?

And what about romance? Does she have the Moxie for that too?

You snuck this one in and didn't put it up here on Big Closet first :P

Yes. This book is an original that didn't appear here first. I'll be doing that more in the future. The next Reluctant book will also be an original book.

Disapointed

Hi Melanie
I am disapointed that this book appears to be unavailable to the UK. After having read all of your previous stories which by the way are wonderful, when I noticed you had this new book out on kindle I rushed to my Amazon to get it only to find it is only available in the USA

Distribution

I don’t have any idea how long it takes for Amazon to make books available in other countries. Just keep looking. There shouldn’t be any restrictions placed on the book.

It's available in Canada.

Finally. It took a while. I don't see it up on amazon.com yet.

Checked

Just checked on Amazon and the listing wasn't there yet at 8:40 PM Friday.

Where are you?

erin's picture

It shows up for us in US and CA, and in UK tho without the cover, see above.

It usually takes less than 6 hours to be available everywhere. And we didn't post the links until it was up in US and CA.

Hugs,
Erin

Really liked this book, those girl pills seem dodgy

Great continuation, love that you have flipped everything around and we now see the Japanese girls mirroring the Texas belles experiences. Those girl pills Ayomi was taking seem to have a worrying effect on her, after her speeches on loyalty and sticking together, she desserts everyone for the drop of a complement.

Sorry for no comment on amazon as it seems that if you only have kindle unlimited then your opinion is considered worthless as you haven’t spent enough money, a very American idea.

I'm glad you liked the book. I have no control over Amazon. Your opinion is never worthless.

Read it, loved it

Hi Melanie

I’m in the UK, bought it on Kindle and read it in two sittings - I’m a speed reader. It was very enjoyable indeed, as are all your novels, and the ending leaves things very neatly poised for (I hope) further adventures of Ayumi. xx

Still a VERY big fan of this title :D

Thanks!

Thank you! Glad you enjoy it.

Loved the book and series. Would love a follow-up

Great series so far
Absolutely love the series
I know it has been a few years since it was published but would love to see a follow-up
There are few open plotlines that could be addressed in a follow-up
Keep up the great work

Is that her performance outfit?

Outfit

Actually no. Doppler Press picked that to attract attention. Ayumi and the band usually dressed in black leather half jackets and miniskirts and boots. Read the book for more details! Like the old adage, you can’t judge a book by its cover.

Shall we await more of Ayumi's life journey?

Hey, Mel, I know you're super busy these days. Either that or you've successfully cloned yourself and your alter-egos are in a locked room pounding away on keyboards as we speak. But, as an unrepentent fan, I hope there's a third canto on the horizon. Also, The Sisters needs a third act as well. And, of course, there's our reluctant heroine Chrissie... Umm, maybe you really should look into that cloning thing.

Hugs,

Sammy

I should download that chatGPT program...

I have actually started on book 3 tentatively titled "Ayumi". A while back, I started a new story with Brianna and Shiloh but ran out of inspiration. I need to get back to it. I've also been tryng to bookify Seoul'd Out here on BCTS. I bookified Modest Proposal and it's at the editor right now. Hard Time is somewhere in the queue. I'm still waiting for Chrissie to start whispering in my ear.

I could definitely use a few more of me :)

And thanks for reading!

Melanie

Sisters book 3 idea

Maybe the third book in the Sisters series could be a crossover between the first two books in the series
