My dog, who I have had for almost 16 years (short by 2 mo), was put to sleep today. She was old, had trouble walking, fell over occasionally, had trouble going up and down stairs. It hurts. It hurts a lot. I have been crying over it for the last several days. This has been really difficult to deal with. So, I wanted to let you all know, because I will be out of it for a while.

Take care and hug your pets.

Hugs

Pets are given pieces of your heart, just like friends and human loved ones. It can hurt just as bad when something happens to one of them.

I grieve with you and I'll go hug my Cuddles as surrogate to hugging you and your friend.

Hugs,
Erin

I'm sorry to hear about your dog Heather. We've all been in that place at some point but it doesn't make it any easier.

Take care of yourself.

Our children..

Our four legged children find their ways into our hearts. When they pass on, it's not easy on those of us left behind. Perhaps you can comfort yourself knowing she's no longer in pain.

Will you forget her? No. But, you know that. Will the pain grow less with time? Probably. Will you love another? Probably.

Best wishes to you. Take the time to think back over all the GOOD times you had together.

Oh, Heather, I feel so sorry

Oh, Heather, I feel so sorry for you. I've also cried for days after the passing of a pet. Our fur-kids worm their way into our hearts so deep, they leave a big hole when they're gone.

Sixteen years is a long time. And then one day everything has changed. Quite a system shock (to use gamer speak). Hang in their and it will get better
