Mia is a contract killer with a secret: she's a transgender woman. After a young life where she never quite fitted in, Eddie, an underworld linchpin, took Mia under his wing and created a brilliant assassin. But Mia's life is turned upside down when she receives a letter from her ex, Wendy, who reveals that she's dying from cancer - and that when they were together Mia fathered a son, 11-year-old Ryan. Now Mia is his legal guardian. Travelling to a tiny village in West Yorkshire to see the boy, Mia meets the rest of Wendy's farmhouse clan: 16-year-old Riley, 15-year-old Levi, and 6-year-old Leonie. Hit & Miss follows Mia's attempts to mix her killer instincts with her new maternal ones, in a search for her own identity. A lethal killer at the heart of a troubled family in the middle of nowhere is where the series begins. ...Hit & Miss - Season 1 - 2-DVD Set ( Hit and Miss -- Six part series)

Hit & Miss is an aptly named series

I saw it. I liked the parts about Mia and her little adopted family out in the boonies, with a believable arc in the direction of mutual respect and acceptance from a rather hostile start; and their struggles to keep the farm, and her getting badass on their behalf. Good characters and dialogue and some neat songs on the soundtrack. But the hitwoman stuff and her dealings with her mobster boss was okay but not something I can relate to. What I didn't like was how the show seemed obsessed with showing her dangly boy bits (at least once an episode for the first 4 or so) and making a big thing about that, as kind of a tittilating carney-freakshow thing; although I hope I'm wrong about their motives for that. Maybe the prosthetic weiner was expensive and they just wanted to get thier money's worth. And they seemed to be getting into some stuff about Mia's deep dark troubled soul that was weird (I got the idea that they were hinting of some childhood trauma that MADE her ts, which sounds t'me like bs) when the series abruptly ends; with a big gnarly "mexican standoff" of a cliffhanger, that makes me think it was cancelled prior to the second season even though someone at the network (not BBC) claimed it is complete at nine episodes...

EDIT: Make that six episodes, not nine.
(Dont want no one to go looking frantically for the "missing episodes" on my say-so)

Gosh, $35 ?

Seriously, I would like to watch it, but the price is like wow. I can't afford it. I like Chloe Sevigny though.

It would have to be cable...

...or edited. I suspect that it would be too "adult" in content and images for anything but cable channels.

I hope to find.

Some of the comments told of receiving the wrong format for the US but that was the only problem, every other comment spoke of a great series thoughtfully acted, and realistically portrayed. The traitors I could find were fantastic, showing a great cast. I hope to buy this next month.

Thanks for the tip.

Pretty good series; it needs a few more episode to round out the story.
