Easy as Falling off a Bike

by Angharad

Stella, someone who could get women drivers a bad name, literally knocks Charlie off his expensive racing bike. She discovers that Charlie, a research field biologist, has a secret. He's gearing up to transition as a woman, only he's too frightened to do it. Stella takes control and her brother, Simon not only fancies 'Cathy' but falls in love with her.

Follow the mayhem, as this romantic and at times adventure story rambles all over the place as they pursue their lives. Keep the tissues handy, it has pathos, humour and real life, as Cathy deals with the triumphs and tribulations of being a woman.

As this has become a longer story than I originally envisioned, about 1100 parts longer, new readers may find it daunting to do it chapter by chapter, so using the off site archive may be easier. The story flows quite easily, so don't be put off by its length, and I'm told it's quite addictive.

Please do comment, just because it was started three years ago doesn't mean I don't check for comments - and I read them all. Enjoy...

Excellent series...

...I've not commented before, but that's because it's been a b*&^^r catching up! I download the recent episodes, read them over the next day or two, and come back to find another half-dozen! At one point you were saying they were c&*p or sh*te! In that case I was about to feed you laxatives to help you produce more of the same :) !

Anyhoo, here's another recipe to go into your collection of Yorkshire foods. My mum's recipe for boiled fruit-cake, as received from her mum... This has been known to serve as a pudding too :)

1) 1cup raisins
2) 1cup currants
3) 1cup sultanas
4) 1cup sugar
5) 1cup milk
6) 4oz marg.
7) 3cup s.r.flour
8)1 large egg
9) 1teasp mixed ground spice

Method:
put 1,2,3,4,5,6 in large pan. Heat through and simmer gently until fruit swells. Allow to cool. Mum usually left it overnight.
add (9) then mix in (8). add (7) & mix well. Put in 2lb loaf tin (lined). Bake 150°C 1.5 hrs(approx)

If making treble for 3 cakes 1-2-3 can be 1kg mixed dried fruit. I prefer that because of the candied peel.
5 becomes 1pt semi-skinned, if preferred, and 8 becomes 4 eggs instead of the expected 3

As for Yorkshire pudding. The best ones are the large ones, and you can serve before the meal as has been said, or you can serve the meal inside them. A hot yorkshire with jam makes a nice way of finishing a meal too :)

Just For Those of Us Who Don't Know the Difference:

Raisins? Sultanas? Aren't sultanas a kind of raisin? At least, hereabouts, raisins come in mainly two kinds: Thompson and Sultana. Is that what you mean?

Ending?

Definitely not now or in the forseable future unless your muse wears out. As others have said, there are so many plot lines to follow up. It gives me a mental picture of a huge web with Cathy at the center and all the possible strands to follow, to say nothing of all the potential for insight and sharing of contact.

Although this is my first comment, I've followed Cathy from the first and certainly want to follow her further.
