Blood Moon Part 14

Jared Brinkerhoff looks at the file that had been put together on the woman that was providing shelter to Kairi DeMille. Her name was Maria Ann Kimball and was the head housekeeper for Daigh Axson. She was married to Carolyn Axson, sister of Daigh Axson. When their security team did a background check on him. They found out that he was the owner of a well-established construction company. His company had done several high-profile buildings both here in the States and overseas.

There wasn’t anything on his wife. It was like she didn’t exist. She had a Georgia driver license, but that was it. There wasn’t any credit cards or bank records. She didn’t even have any tax records either. The records did indicate Daigh’s and his wife had two children. A seven-year-old girl and a five-year-old boy. He had pictures of each child as he stared at their pictures. The girl had blonde hair with bright blood red streaks.
The boy had short extremely dark black hair. His hair was so black, that he didn’t have highlights. Both children had fair skin and were extremely smart.

He did spot guards patrolling the grounds where Maria and the Axson family lived. He watches the coming and going of the family all day long but doesn’t spot Kairi at all. He tries to think of a way to get to her. He watched as the children were driven to school by their aunts. They had bodyguards following behind them. There was a third child in the car with them that wasn’t in his files.

He knew if he was going to get to Kairi, she would have to leave the property. He heads back to the hotel room he had rented and reviewed the footage he had recorded. There were a few places he could sneak onto the property to sneak into the house. He had seen a few huge dogs patrolling the grounds. He had a few tricks to throw them off his scent. He waits until midnight before he does anything.

Old Pembroke House:
Kairi wakes-up and couldn’t believe how she was feeling. The pack doctor said she would be healed by the time she woke-up this morning. She gets up and looks at her back. She notices that her wounds had completely healed and only left three claw marks on the lower part of her body. If she wore a short blouse or hip huggers, people would be able to see the healed claw marks, but that was all. She also couldn’t believe all the scents her nose was picking up. She could tell what chemicals had been used to clean her bedroom and what laundry detergent had been used as well.

As she looks around the bedroom she was given last night as her own. She spots a note taped to the mirror with her name on it. She walks over and gently pull the note off the mirror.

Kairi,
Come on downstairs. Breakfast is being served in the main dining room.
Love,
Maria

Kairi heads downstairs towards the main dining room and notices everyone in the house was there. She spots an empty seat over near Carolyn and their other daughter Sanjay. She walks over towards it.

“Well, good morning sleepy head. Did you sleep okay?” Maria was looking at Kairi as she sat down in the chair between her and Carolyn.

“Yes, ma’am. I slept like a baby, for once. I had no worries or concerns.” Kairi couldn’t believe how well she slept last night.

Normally, she only got a few hours of sleep, because the men that were watching the house she was staying at. They would come in during the night and fondle them while they were asleep. Some of the girls didn’t mind and would have sex with them. While others like herself didn’t like them touching them in places that made them feel uncomfortable.

Kairi couldn’t believe how hungry she was as she made a plate for her. She saw how much was on the table already, but she didn’t realize that would be so hungry. Normally, she ate like a bird. Now, she piled her plate high with everything offered on the table.

A smile appears on Maria’s face as she watches Kairi pile food on her plate. She knew the Were characteristic she inherited from being attack were kicking in. she had already healed the damage she received and now her appetite had increased. A Were burns more calories than a normal person’s body. Plus, she will need those extra calories when she does her first change.

After breakfast, Carolyn gets Hokee and Sheamus ready for school. As Hokee is getting ready for school. She stops and walks over towards her bedroom window that faces the driveway and looks down towards it. She was getting an uneasy feeling and she knew it was related to Kairi.

“What’s wrong Hokee?” Carolyn had noticed Hokee staring out the window.

“Someone is here to grab Kairi.” She turns around to look at her aunt.

“Do you want to warn your mother?” Carolyn figures maybe Sparrow should be warned.

“No, Mommie don’t need to be warned. The bad guy is going to find out that sneaking onto the property is going to be difficult.” Hokee just
smiles, because she saw the guy being chased by one of the guards.

“Okay, if you say so.” Carolyn finishes helping Hokee get ready for school.

She goes to check on Kairi next. She knocks on her door before she peeks in to see if she was dressed.

“You ready kiddo?” Carolyn and Maria were thinking about adopting Kairi as their own daughter.

“Yes, ma’am.” She had been surprised to find a stack of brand new clothes and shoes sitting on the bed when she got back to her bedroom.

Kairi follows Hokee, Sheamus, Maria and Carolyn downstairs to the SUV they were taking and leave the property. As they drive past the person’s car that Hokee had seen. She just smiles and couldn’t wait for tonight.

Jared:
Around midnight, Jared had gotten up and dressed all in black. He had the needle and zip cuffs he was going to need to secure Kairi. He drives towards the location and parks his car nearby, so he could make a fast getaway. As he was making his way onto the property, he comes face to face with a huge black wolf. He doesn’t know how he could have missed that they had a wolf on the property. As he slowly moves his hand to a spray he had on his belt. He hears another growl coming from behind him and from each side of him.

“I suggest you surrender.” Sparrow walks out of the darkness behind her husband in her Grim Reaper garb with her sword in her hand. The
magical runes had an eerie glow to them.

“What are you?” Jared looked at the Grim Reaper standing behind the biggest wolf in front of him.

“I’m the Grim Reaper or is my cloak not proof enough for you?” Sparrow had a smile on her face, that he couldn’t see. Her hood hid her face, but not her glowing red eyes.

“Are you saying that my time has come?” Jared was ready to join the maker.

“That depends on you. We all know why you are here, but I want the person who sent you and who wants Kairi as well. If not, the wolves that are surrounding you will give you an up and personal look of their teeth.” Sparrow scratches her husband’s head between his ears.

Jared looks at the huge wolf in front of him. It was as big as a miniature pony. He looks at the other wolves and they were only slightly bigger than their wild cousins.

Jared knew that they could smell his fear. There was no way he could overpower the wolves or the person who was claiming to be a Grim Reaper.

“I’m not claiming to be the Grim Reaper, Mr. Jared. I am the Grim Reaper.” As the symbols on her scimitar flare brightly.

Jared felt the icy, eerie, touch of death as it crept over him. He shivers as all the fine hair on his body stood on end.

“Now, answer my question or forfeit your life.” Sparrow made her eyes flash brighter and caused the runes on her sword to flare as well.

“I was sent by Braxton Braedon to retrieve Kairi. She is bestowed upon him.” Jared knew a lot of people didn’t agree with the old fashion tradition.

“That’s not what we were told. I think it’s time your sect has a visit from me and my pack.” Sparrow plans on visiting them and showing them, they better stop, or she was going to end their lives.

“You don’t have the right to tell others how to live their lives or how to worship their god.” Jared didn’t like it when people told him their religion was wrong.

Sparrow walks forward towards Jared. Normally, she didn’t interfere with other people’s religious beliefs. However, when young children were being sexually abused or mistreated. She had a problem with that.

Jared tries to back up but heard the growling sounds coming from the wolves surrounding him. He felt the air surrounding him grow cold as the Grim Reaper approached him. He could tell this person was mad because their red glowing eyes became brighter.

“When it comes to the exploitation of children and women. I will tell the great spirit them self what they can or can’t do. You forget, death is the final equalizer and I don’t care who you think you are.” Sparrow lays her hand on his shoulder and let a little bit of her power flow through his
body and cause all his joints to hurt.

Jared screams out in pain as he feels pain in every joint of his body. He couldn’t believe the pain as he fell to his knees. It stops after a while.

“Don’t ever tell me what I can or can’t do.” Sparrow removes her hand from his shoulder.

She leaves an imprint on his shoulder, so he doesn’t ever forget this lesson. She looks towards her husband.

“It is up to you if you want to set him free to deliver our message.”

“Send him on his way.” Daigh knew that the message needed to be delivered.

Sparrow picks Jared up from the ground easily and plucks where this Braxton Braedon was located at. She tosses his ass into the shadows,
sending him to the person to deliver their message.

Jared felt his body picked up easily and carried till they came to a dark spot. The next thing he feels is being tossed forwards into the darkness. He feels a tingling sensation as he passes through it and lands on the floor before Braxton himself.

Jared was shaking as he looked up at Mr. Braxton before he passes out.

Sparrow removes her hood and looks at her husband. The pack enforcers stayed near them, even though they didn’t need too. They knew their Alpha pair could protect themselves.

“If they don’t change. I will personally go and kill each and every one of them.” Sparrow was pissed. The Alpha influence inside her didn’t like someone who wasn’t her equal telling her what she could or couldn’t do.

“Calm my love. Let’s go inside the house.” Daigh stays in his wolf form and leads his wife back to the house.
