In the near future, DOPPLERPRESS will publish Baseball Annie.

This will be the fiftieth title published by DOPPLERPRESS.

Baseball Annie will be the sixth book they have published that I’ve authored. Only two other authors have had more books published by them than I have, which means I have an opinion based on multiple interractions.

As you might expect from an Erin-driven operation, DOPPLERPRESS has been extremely author-friendly. I’m especially pleased by the covers they’ve created for my novels.

When I’ve had questions during the process, they’ve always been answered quickly and with great concern.

I’m not able to state anything about the accuracy and timeliness of royalty payments because I’ve donated my proceeds to Erin for the support of BC.

DOPPLERPRESS understands that my stores are my babies, and treats them gently.

Baseball Annie is an important “baby” to me. It was through Baseball Annie that I got to know Erin. Erin read Baseball Annie on Fictionmania -- and asked if I would consider posting it on Big Closet. We have been friends ever since (I’m estimating over fifteen years) and I’ve posted my stories exclusively on BC for years, although Erin's never asked for an exclusive. As such, my relationship with Erin is now one of my longest sustained friendships.

I suppose Baseball Annie is a classic or some sort given the many years it has been published online. When Erin approached me to publish it through DOPPLERPRESS I wondered if it has marketability. She assured me that there are many thousands of potential readers on Amazon that have never read the older stories on BC.

Erin has shared with us that it is her dream to grow DOPPLERPRESS to the point that it would sustain BC. I’m eager to help her toward that goal and encourage other authors to consider talking to Erin about ways DOPPLERPRESS can work with them.

I will buy it

It has always been a favorite as I love baseball stories and this one had a great premise and Angela's excellent storytelling.

The Little Engine That Could

Erin’s dream to expand Doppler Press into a viable publishing company on Amazon is commendable. Besides creating an simple way for authors to see their works become ‘real’ by providing editing, advertising, and a professionally designed jacket, she oversees each project personally.

When we worked together to bring Wildcats to Amazon, she was always there to respond to my questions. Doppler and BigCloset are her babies and she treated my work with the same attention and care.

She’s creating a very special platform both online and in the book industry. Her selfless desire to present the world with a positive catalog of trans subject material is wonderful.

Congratulations on number fifty, Erin!

P.S. Look for Wildcats 3 sometime in June on Amazon published by Doppler Press!

Real Help

The other day I was reading how the book industry is fast shrinking. The article spoke to how little money is spent promoting books, by the publisher, as they expect the author to do the heavy lifting. Erin does all the promotional work for my books. It seems to work, because my books have at times ranked high in several sales categories on Amazon.

I'm looking forward to Wildcats 3.

Wow

It's like my protagonist, Andy Blake, jumped right out of the story onto that cover. It's perfect.

I like this cover even better than the one you did years ago for Shannon's Course. Up until now, that was my favorite.

Thanks.

I donated the profits from Bike vol 1 to the site and Erin told me it had brought in a few dollars. It would be good if ultimately Doppler press became self sustaining, but I'm not holding my breath and will continue to donate wit money as well as stories.

What is sad, is that if everyone who read a story donate a few cents or pence each time, we wouldn't have the continuous financial nightmare that Erin deals with nearly every month. But in saying so, I know I'm wasting my breath. I don't mind subsidising those who are genuinely hard up, but there's an awful lot of takers out there who don't care what happens to the site.
