While Alex Jones got yanked off of Twitter and others places everyone seemed to cheer. What got overlooked was legitimate Leftist groups and journalists have either been delisted or purged from Facebook or Google News. Chris Hedges was taken down from the latter after he criticized them in an interview with a website.
I saw at least one more left leaning group delisted from Facebook.

I imagine more and more credible leftist groups and journalists will be delisted or purged in the day ahead...Jones isn't going to be the only one. I apologize I can't name the group off the top of my head for Facebook but I was left in a "Wha?" moment, like it made absolutely no sense to me.

Anyway don't think the MSM won't try to knock credible left wing journalists off these platforms as well.

Fake News Right Here

This post is just. plain. false.

A simple google search will show you that Chris Hedges is alive and well on the internet. Searching on google news also returns many, many instances.

Neither right nor left is being "cleansed" from major social and information platforms. Only the worst of the worst liars and deceivers.

Sadly, the internet can be a never-ending fountain of sewage, so there's still plenty bubbling up. Even Alex Jones is still available on his own platform, for instance.

Contrary to the wingnut chants, the legitimate print and broadcast mainstream media ("MSM")* is actually one of the few sources on the internet you can generally trust to not be spreading intentional propaganda, conspiracy theories, and inflammatory nonsense.

...that last paragraph is

...that last paragraph is laughable. Seriously, trusting those sources for political coverage is laughable. They are some of the biggest source of misinformation and propaganda online. They don't even try to hide their attempts at political commentary and Op Eds as being anything but attempts to sway opinions of people, they aren't even trying to report facts anymore. Unless you are reading actual investigation pieces or actual reporting of news stories those are just glorified propaganda producers that would make Goebels proud.

Ironically for their individual shows....

Al Jazeera English and RT America, with shows like "America's Lawyer" and "On Contact" I hear issues most MSM won't cover because of their advertisers.
AJ English has a great show called "The Stream" that covers oft ignored issues or overlooked ones on the MSM. Its fault is that it's only 30 minutes long.
These are not their news on the hour programs.

MSM?

Why would "Main stream media" purge Leftist journalist, when most of the "MSM" are in fact, left wing journalists?

they aren't doing that, but facts don't matter

...because scare tactics work on the ignorant. it's the same old broken record of misinformation, it's two weeks from an election so the misinformation producers are working hard to get people up in arms to scare them into voting for their candidates.

MSM is Corporate media.

You'll notice Noam Chomsky isn't welcome on outlets like MSNBC and others. See how often Amy Goodman gets covered. Cenk Uyghur got yanked from MSNBC when he wouldn't play nice to Democrats and held them to account. Donahue was kicked off earlier for opposing the war on Iraq.
Hedges use to work for the Times and left because of how it changed, going further right.

Ah, an anti-corporate

Ah, an anti-corporate conspiracy theorist. OK well sorry for bursting your bubble there but Donahue's ratings sucked to the point that they were losing money on having him as host vs. having someone in-house host. You are ignoring his successor, Keith Olberman, who was about as anti-Bush anti-right as you can find and who wasn't apologetic about his views.

Sorry if they have to actually make money to sustain the network even if it comes at the cost of a fading talk show host.

You mean the bitter anchor

You mean the bitter anchor who was let go because he thought he was bigger than he was and pissed off people with his attitude? Or the nobody who is only big among a small number of people who tries desperately to get attention to her radio show and tried to use the network for her own advantage?

All of them have something in common: their egos and arrogance got them booted. You choose not to see anything except what you want to see so it's pointless trying with you any longer. Those three thought they were bigger than they really were and two lost their jobs while the third is wallowing away among like believers trying to make herself seem relevant to anyone who will pay attention to her.

I Love Politics

Given the opportunity, I will talk politics for hours . . . days. But this thread is a great example of why politics doesn't belong on this site.

agree with Jill

I don't see any discussion going on here. It's perilously close to degenerating into name calling. You re not going to agree; you've said your piece It's time to drop it. For what it's worth I don't think it's possible to have a meaningful discussion of divisive issues in the kind of short posts everyone here is making. I would be surprised to find many people willing to read and respond to a multi-page analysis of media and social network bias here. I know I'm not interested in doing the work to produce one.
