Awww

Poor petra, I know that feel girl. I hate when my favorite nightgowns/pajamas/underwear/socks are no longer able to be used and need to be thrown away ;-; You'll find a new cuter nightgown that'll suit you, I just know it! Also wow she's mega popular now... that's probably not good xD Also OH they die but they come back, I should have expected that. And wow everyone is gonna hate Petra for actually completing the test, this'll be fun next chapter xD

I know who I am, I am me, and I like me ^^
Transgender, Gamer, Little, Princess, Therian and proud :D

This time they came back

This test had 2 goals.
1. See where students were weakest and strongest.
2. Show the students they can't just mess around like a regular school.

Once classes start the gloves are off.

And yeah, Petra is going to have SO much fun in class tomorrow. Hehehe

Yes, he designed them :p

Yes, he designed them :p

I'm told STFU more times in a day than most people get told in a lifetime

LOL!

LOL!

Hopefully she keeps

Hopefully she keeps emphasizing that she didn't actually have to _do_ anything much. If he hadn't been admiring his family reflection, he might have put some thought into things.

Push the attention away from her, and onto distracting the opponent.

I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.

And she still thinks she's going to get food...

LibraryGeek's picture

I've just read all the way through for the first time, so no one, likely, has seen my speculation concerning food and Petra.

There's no food in her name.
Yeppers, Peter is the name on his registration packet.
Like, duh!
She hasn't filed any official paperwork registering the sex and name change, and the folks in charge have OCD...
QED.

And she thinks her adviser is going to deal with this for her?!?
It's a learning experience!

Yours,

John Robert Mead

Oh, please. They'd already

Oh, please. They'd already assigned her a room in the girls' dormitory, gave her assigned clothing, and the instructors are all aware of it. It has nothing to do with the bureaucracy not having the name right. Rather, it's another 'test'. Remember, this place seems to thrive on abrupt transformations, so they obviously have no issues tracking changes. I suspect that she's not even the first sex change in the last 14 months.

So far, she's getting fed by the girls around her getting extra food and drink.

Fate sucks

No one has yet answered this question, so I will. Of course we want to read what you write. Please!

Actually

Domoviye's picture

I got a few messages saying go for it.
I'm now wondering if I should get rid of the original version or slightly alter the name of the new one and have both up there.

And thanks.

Just alter the name.

Just alter the name.

"Fate Sucks- Original Version" or "Fate Sucks- TG Whateley version" would work to differentiate between the two. Really, all you have to do is just edit the title page and it'll be all set to go for your new version.

That is, if you don't find that you like a new title based on how the new version plays out. Sometimes a little tweak might give you an entirely new name that fits it better making a title change unnecessary...

I'm told STFU more times in a day than most people get told in a lifetime

Yeah. I'll probably do that.

Domoviye's picture

Yeah. I'll probably do that.
I think the first chapter will go up tonight or tomorrow, depends on when I get a fight done.

Awesome

It’s a pity this chapter is so short but it was still good. Tomorrow is going to be really interesting. What happpened to her might come out tomorrow.

hugs :)

Reginald

I would love to see the scene where Reginald gets read the riot act by his most righteous instructors. A hero does not try to kill the very person that just saved his life. A chivalrous hero pays back the debt of honor that he owes to Petra for saving his life. A man of honor bows and kneels before the lady that he assaulted, apologizes, and begs forgiveness.

Then, after his instructors have properly chastised him, his parents have their turn. The son of two heroes does not besmirch his family name by such reprehensible actions as perpetrating a sneak attack upon the fair lady who is not a threat, has done no wrong, and has, in fact, saved his life.

"You are not worthy to bear our family name until you have righted this great wrong!"

I know, I'm laying it on thick. But would you expect any less from the hero community.

And, in a practical sense, it is a good object lesson to the whole school. People are not guilty by association. They are not guilty until they actually do something wrong.

You're assuming that his

You're assuming that his parents aren't _exactly the same_. Behaviour like that doesn't come naturally, it's learned. Especially when you have to learn how to Speak in Capital Letters, Declaiming (yes, he was Declaiming) your Righteousness to All and Sundry.

I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.

Age

His parents are mature heroes who presumably graduated from the most righteous school of heroism and light, or whatever it is.

A kid is going to be all gung-ho about smiting the bad guys. The parents should be more mature.

Yeah, they may be as immature as their teenager, but it's more likely that the kid is going for the glory and didn't quite catch the part about duty and honor. Or they figure that the Doom Valley kid is automatically the bad guy, so it is his duty to smite her.

If they are well respected, the very likely have a strong code of honor. But we don't know for sure exactly how respected they are. They might be pariahs among the superhero set, or c-grade heroes. We only have their kid's word on that.

In the finalmversion I'll be

Domoviye's picture

In the finalmversion I'll be publishing, I might show Reginald getting a bit of a browbeating.
But we will learn more about Reginald as he makes appearances, and he is not a static character.

Remember, though, the biggest

Remember, though, the biggest thing that bit him on the ass is the Ass-umptions.

1) That he was automatically right.
2) That his opponent was automatically scum.
3) That his opponent _had to be male_.
4) That Petra couldn't possibly be his opponent.
5) That he would be able to overcome anything by himself.

Lots of ways to make an ass of himself :)

Lacks faith in herself

Jamie Lee's picture

Ever since Petra came to school, she keeps telling herself that she's going to get killed, as she did at the last of this chapter.

But each time it looked like she was going to become puppy chow, she comes up with something which diverts her getting killed.

Instead of getting beat up after getting her room key, she auctioned it off. Instead of rush into all the goblins, she stirred them up then let Reginald take the heat. And instead of quickly grabbing the goblet she realized the trap and used an object to get the goblet.

It isn't that she won't fight, it's just that she'd rather do things in a different manner. She is proving, to those with eyes, that fighting isn't always necessary to accomplish a goal.

Now if she'd gain more faith in herself.

Others have feelings too.

That will come eventually.

Domoviye's picture

That will come eventually.
For now, she's still in "OH GOD I'M GOING TO DIE! I DON'T WANT TO DIE!" mode.

Lovely Story!

Reminds me of the quite old by now saying: Every villain in superheroes books, comics or movies tried to improve our life in some way. Every superhero fought tooth and nail to keep things the same old bleak "Monday"...
