Happiest Fairytale Ever

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'

The girl said, 'NO!'

And the girl lived happily ever after and went shopping, dancing, drank
whole bottles of wine, chatted for hours on the phone to friends, always
had a clean house, watched chick flicks without feeling guilty, never had
to cook, did whatever the hell she wanted, never argued, didn't get fat,
didn't have to pay for dual view tv, travelled more, had a career, had
many lovers, didn't save money, and had all the hot water to herself. She
went to the theatre, never watched sports, owned every remote control in
the house, never wore friggin’ lacy lingerie that went up her arse, had
high self esteem, never cried or yelled, and felt and looked fabulous all
the time.

That's one perspective

You forgot she could date other guys and not feel like she was cheating, didn't have to pick up dirty clothes off the floor and never had to listen to "pull my finger". Was she truly happy. Maybe her lamp stand near the bed had lots of friendly night toys for her

May you have a wonderful today and a better tomorrow

Be kinder than necessary,Because everyone you meet
Is fighting some kind of battle.

The aftermath, however, is somehow different...

The questions are:
Did she ever have any children?
Did she ever want to have any children?
Who was there at her deathbed?
Who went to her funeral?
Who remembered her?

Sorry to be a gloomy one, but I'm going to sleep now and it kinda rubbed off on me. Ta ta!
Best of all for you all!

Where you can fool around like you want to and most you get is some bemused good ribbing!

Well, assuming the answers

... that you were seeking were to be unhappy ones because she didn't get married... allow me to refute.

Why assume any of the following?

  • A woman cannot have children without a husband
  • A woman's want for children relies on her having a husband
  • Only a husband will be at a woman's deathbed (though this one really confuses me, as women live longer than men and wouldn't it be more likely that a husband would be dead before the woman, anyway?)
  • Only a husband will be at a woman's funeral (again, see directly above)
  • Only a husband will remember a woman

All of these assumptions are implied by your questions...

Can happen to any of us t-folks

It's up to her. That is all I can say.

She can have children - be a single parent ? Want any children ? Up to her.

She can have many friends and somebody will be at her death bed.

Having a man is not the end all and be all of life.

It probably happens more often to T-Folks though.

It's a joke

Angharad's picture

it's not supposed to be agonised over. Just laugh and read the next thing.

Thanks!

I quite enjoyed it, reading it in the manner it was intended to be.

Thanks!

A JOKE!

To be a joke it must have a point. If it has a point someone probably will step on it and shout out in pain.

I thought it was very aggressive and quite anti-male. I did NOT laugh.

The point

Oh, there's a point, all right. The point is that they don't understand us and we don't understand them. And you can read that statement whichever side of the fence you're currently standing.

Personally, I have come to believe (though observation, you understand) that men and women do actually live on different planets. These planets happen to coexist in the physical plane, but that's about all. It's not really surprising that one side can't figure out the other. The story above just expresses one point of view. Angela, why don't you try to write a response as the man might see it?

(We happy few, of course, can move between the planets. Some travel freely, some make a one-way trip, others like me can visit both sides but don't belong on either.)
