Car to carpet heels - whatisit?

Printer-friendly version

Forums:

I've come across the expression that a woman (65, BTW) was wearing "car to carpet heels". What exactly was she wearing? Google produced hits about heels making holes in (car) carpets ...

I believe .....

It means she took her heels off to drive, thus from carpet to car.

Could be wrong :-)

I was stupid not to give the whole quote

The whole quote from Wiki:

She has been described as having "[a] deep tan, a peroxide-to-honey blonde hairdo, an expensive designer handbag and car-to-carpet heels" by the British Vogue.[8]

Thank you Sammi for making an attempt at guessing what it could had meant :)

Car to carpet

Really high heels that you wouldn't walk very far in it seems.

Driven in heels

Ever driven in stiletto heels, especially tall ones? There is a reason most of us keep a pair of flats in the car. Car to carpet heels are shoes that can make the transition from car to inside without having to change shoes. It's a vague description and can be taken several ways depending on the reader's imagination. Much like the term "fuck me" (FM) heels. I normally wear 3"-4" heels, to me the term means 5"+heels basically. Other women consider my normal heel height as FM heels. The style of shoe comes into play also, again depending on the viewer's opinions.

Edit: Annachie makes a good point also. Shoes that you wouldn't want to walk very far in. Again, a subjective opinion.

Anyway, that's my opinion. ;-)
