I'm taking a bit of time off writing for a few days.

There's nothing wrong it's just a mental energy break while I'm dealing with the busiest time of my years workwise with student frosh going on. I'm still going to plug away though but without any self imposed deadlines.

Love you all.

Real Life...

...Is what happens in between making plans and realising them. Mine has been rather fraught since my aunt, who has lived with me since 1987, was taken ill during the Gabycon and gave extra stress - I ran on adrenalin for a few days.

She still isn't right and being elderly, this could become a chronic thing or worse, something life threatening. Meanwhile I'm trying to work full time, do the household chores and some writing when I have time.

It's all time consuming and stressful, so if Bike doesn't appear, it's because either something has worsened or I'm too cream crackered to write.

Mother suing South Florida hospital for doing circumcision on her son.

Oi Vei-

*****

Vera Delgado says she was shocked when she learned last month that her infant son, Mario Viera, was accidentally circumcised without her consent at South Miami Hospital when he was 8 days old.

``Oh, my God,'' Delgado said. ``How could this happen?''

No male in her family has been circumcised for years, she said.

``I didn't want this for him. I'm opposed to circumcision. They didn't have the right to do it.''

Looking for an editor

Hello,

As some of you may know, I have started posting poems on this wonderful website and am now progressing onto a larger story. The story is a fan-fiction/canon of The Center by Lilith Langtree; I have completed the introduction and first chapter of the story. Anyone who is interested in helping me with issues such as grammatical errors, major plot wholes, and polishing, please send me a message.

Thanks,

"If You Only Knew Me" Is A Good Show

I was flipping through channels last night when I happened to come across a great show on MTV called "If You Only Knew Me" A team of counselors goes into different schools and seeks to unite the school and break up the various cliques that exist by showing them they have more in common than they think. In last night's episode, they went to Neenah High School in Neenah, Wisconsin. There were the usual Jocks, Preppies, Stoners and EMO kids.

The headline just about says it all. The weather gods were mostly beneficent, except I got ice cream in my hair walking across Lulworth Cove thanks to the breeze. The pictures on Maddy's site show the area in which I'm privileged to live, so I hope you have a look at them.

Plus there's the continuation of the race Drew began in the previous episode - it's a corker!

Another GabyCon Update

Since Mads and Bev have given their 2p worth, I thought I'd join the club - but to be different, I'll give a rough outline of the weekend's events. I've also deliberately left a lot of it vague, to both tease you and not spoil things in case any of the other attendees decide to write in more detail about proceedings.

Saturday, 5am.
The things I do in the name of fun... waking up at a ridiculously early hour on a weekend to travel half way across the country to spend a weekend with a bunch of random people I've met on the internet. On the one hand, I'm a little nervous and apprehensive (for a variety of fairly obvious reasons); on the other I'm excited about finally putting faces and voices to some of the people whose writing I read every day here on TopShelf.

Oh, and there's also the small matter of this being the third bunch of random internet strangers I've met - the first being regulars on this blog (and what could be stranger than fans of a blog of a radio news magazine show?!); the second being fans / participants of this project held last year.

For the last several days, I have noticed that BCTS is slow to completely load at times. Oh, it eventually does, but I just noticed the change. No complaint really. Are there current issues in the air or is it just this infestation of Ohio fall bugs. It reminds me of stories I have heard about Midges.

When pantyhose was first introduced.

Here is a very brief history of when seamed pantyhose was first introduced in the United States. Maybe people who leave comments about stories should do their research first. And yes they did have seamed pantyhose in 1961. The seamless pantyhose is what was first introduced with the introduction of the min-skirt. I know how to do my research. Does anyone else? Sorry Stanman and Gabi...but your comment that you left to my story So You Want To Be A Girl, Do You, was only partly right.

No more time travel - unless u come up with a good reason
You cant write about any characters i have already mentioned but they can be mentioned as plot if needed
You cant write about the head of duel academy or 3 Egyptian god cards

Ave Maria in Welsh?

I used to listen to Charlotte Church when she was young and thought that her singing was wonderful. For me it was disappointing to see her transition into other music but that is her right if she wishes.

Accidentally, early this morning around 2:00 AM, I discovered Katherine Jenkins! I think the wiki said she is Welsh, but I do not remember clearly because of the hour. Did I hear her sing Ave Maria in Welsh? I would not know, because I neither understand Welsh nor Italian.

Just like most heroes have to hide their true selves, I also have to keep my true self a secret. The difference is where most heroes don't want or plan to integrate their 2 sides, I hope someday that I will be able to take off my mask, and show my real self to the world.

Maybe a robot or someone tried to harvest the site. The logs don't show that, though, so I don't know what it was. All seems well, now. :)

Notorious Anti-Gay Opposed by TG Woman

Out from under my rock long enough to post this, which may be of interest to a few here. Knowing that there is a following for well-drawn strips (and this is one) I thought people here might appreciate a look at the original before seeing the film. The film got an excellent review in today's Guardian but perhaps they're a bit biassed :)

I know it was very long, as I sat here and assembled it into a word doc, and the read and edited minor stuff as I went. Seemed to be a couple hundred pages. It atarts with a guy and his sister at college. He has to get a part time job. He is not an early riser, and stumbles from bed, 2/3 asleep, and dons his sisters clothes, since he has just moved in, and digs them from a box, by accident.

The End Verdict

This is a followup blog to my last one, "I Dunno What I'm Gonna Do."

Well, I'm trying to get a week of vacation time organized at work near the end of October to go home for a week. While there, me and my parents will sit down and talk through the advantages and disadvantages of moving back to see what can be done, and I'll come out to my dad, since that HAS to be done -- and him if not okay with it then at least accepting of it -- before I'll really consider moving back.

An Unusual Problem

As I've explained elsewhere before, I'm a straight, married, male crossdresser. As a class, we're famous for living so deep in the closet, we can't see what we're doing. :) I've read the stories of those who, taken with a bout of guilt, stress, or recent threat of discovery, "purge" their entire collections of mtf goodies: clothes, makeup, wigs, shoes, everything.

Well, I've never had that problem.

duty and destiny

I'm messing around with a new story. I'm not sure what I'll title it; at the moment I've given it the working title of "duty and destiny.' It takes place in the same world as my stories The Necessity of Winter, and After Winter. Chronologically, I'd say it is 3 or 4 years after After Winter.

As soon as I finish it, I will post it here, but as I said, it's still in the messin around stage. I've even posted a map, but it is a little crappy. I'm so jealous of Persephone's map (I have map envy).

to anyone worried about my take on amanda waller

I just want to re-assure anyone worried about my take on Amanda Waller, she will not end up in a silly costume, and her abilities will not exceed human. Meanwhile, I have had a couple of dreams recently where its clear I am fully female. I think that's a good sign.
