A Lament: Maybe hope for the future.
Andrea Is Her Name
Andrea is her name,
A very special girl and name.
What's in a name?
A gentle love always in bloom,
For the heart hoped to be in tune,
With a song that too many can't sing,
If the soul and body don't rhyme, it doesn't mean a thing.
Andrea is her name,
We trip the light and danced together to the moon,
But what's in a tune?
Will it ever come around?
If it does, will I hear the sound?
Maybe I will be absent, or listening too fast,
Missing half the words, and the meaning going past.
But God I love the girl,
And I'd go a thousand times around the world just to be
Closer to her than to me.
Andrea is her name,
I've never known her, but I love her just the same,
I love her name.
Wished I could find the way,
And the magic that could make her stay.
I have learned to lead a life apart from all the rest.
If I can't have the one I want, I'll do without the best.
But God I love the girl,
And I'd go a million times around the world just to say
She had been mine for a day.
