The Roads Are Calling, or It's A Carnie Life: Part 2

I apologize for the extremely lengthy time between postings for this story. Life, as I mentioned in the prologue, can be an utter PITA. Some of that was due to the muse striking at various times with stories or chapters of stories, some due to the muse apparently being on strike or lost.

We arrived at the site for the Lake County Fair perhaps an hour after we left the Williston area that Monday morning.

Don't Blame Me I'm A Martian-38

Not doing anything else, not caring about how her hair looks and I can feel the girls kind of wtf over that and some are a little turned on and don’t get why...okay one of my cousins definitely gets why and being tuned in now I can feel Cheyenne’s mind on the almost guy track of food.

I head out and see Shy talking with Mom and they’re into it and making some kind of sauce not sauce? It’s green and it’s got lots of olive oil and there’s vinegar and I’m thinking cilantro and garlic but they’re talking and taste testing together and Shy’s dipping pieces of baguette in it trying it out and adding things like lemon zest to it and some squeezes of juice then whipping it up again.

It’s good to see them talking and chilling out.

Little steps.

Who the hell am I? Book 2 Chapter 3

Chapter 3

I hadn't really got my breath back, but I had managed to turn around and face the guy. I was standing on some grass that was bordering the path. 100 metres behind him there was a dog walker with one of those tiny almost toy dogs. He carried on jogging whilst giving me a top to toe look over, slowing down as he went past me.

The Living Legends Of Lost Leroqand: Prologue

Long, long ago, when humans were just beginning to form into tribes and learning to hunt and live together, there was a land far, soooo far to the west across the Unending Sea, where there lived a people who espoused peace and the well-being of all peoples.

Their land was called Leroqand and the Leroqandi people were known for their mediation during disputes of all kinds.

I Am Rosemary’s Granddaughter Chapter 19: (Revised): “Most of All”

“So, they’re still going to perform the play?” Mike’s voice still had a tiredness to it.
“Yes, I think it will be a great tribute for her.”
“You would’ve done it all yourself if they didn’t.”
“You’re right, I replied.
I sat at a small, built for two, but three people could possibly sit at it if they used tea saucers as dinner plates, table as I talked with Michael over the phone.
Danny was on the other side of the room on his computer.
“I wish I could see it.”

Who the hell am I? Chapter 26

Chapter 26 Jesse's POV

Today was such an awkward day, it was such a relief to wave goodbye to mum and spend time with the girls. We all arrived at different times, so we just chatted and waited until everyone was present. I didn't want to start until then. The moment arrived, all present and accounted for. Even Ruth was staying around. She asked me when we were waiting and I was happy to invite her to join us.

Who the hell am I? Chapter 23

Chapter 23.

After a long cuddle we went back to my room to see what could be salvaged. It was just as well that I had locked the other suitcase, so I still had some clothes. All my underwear, all my night wear, all school uniform compatible clothes were ruined. A small amount of my casual clothes were affected but most were in the other suitcase that I was going to sort out Friday.

Who the hell am I? Chapter 22

Chapter 22 Jesse's POV

Another good day at school. It was getting to the stage where I was happy to go to school. There must be something wrong with me. Mum was a bit weird this morning. She was up again before me and had made me breakfast. She also helped me with my hair and make up, but I couldn't help feeling that she was distracted by something.

Who the hell am I? Chapter 20

Chapter 20.

I went back with Karen but she was pretty agitated because Peter had said he was coming home early again and bringing food. I only did an hour and left early so that I missed him. Karen drove me to Jenny's house. I think it was to make sure I was somewhere safe when Peter got home. I was early though and no one else was there yet. Since the time was mainly set by when I was going to be available, a quick text later and everyone was coming asap.

Who the hell am I? Chapter 18

Chapter 18

I managed to convince Anne to go along with my idea of crepes and a couple of different fillings. Because it was open plan, when I started in the kitchen, the girls started waking up and the occasional sleepy head would pop up to say hi and then disappear to the bathroom. I still needed a shower after my run, but wanted to leave that until after breakfast.

Who the hell am I? Chapter 15

Chapter 15

I got up early, full of excited energy. Since I wasn't going to the Parkour group, I did a solo run. Nothing too adventurous. Had a shower, got myself ready and prepared breakfast. Mum came down and joined me. We had a nice relaxed chat. She told me that she didn't have any work this weekend, so she was going to do the meals for the week. She would even help me with my Junk mail posting on Sunday if I wanted. I thought it would be nice to spend the time with her, but I didn't want to tire her out.

Captured by the Amazons - A Jane Bot Tale

Becoming the main character in an interactive erotic novel seems like a dream come true - but failing to read the contract might make it more of a nightmare. Jake never bothered to find out that the main character was female - or that her main love interest was a futa. Two details that will soon bite him in the ass - and maybe a few new body parts, too.

I Am Rosemary’s Granddaughter Chapter 21 (final): “Melodies and Memories”

I stepped into my old bedroom and felt an old, familiar feeling. A depression feeling, one that I had had for so long but was able to break away from less than a week before only to be caught in its driftnet and pulled back. I ran my hands across my head, still having the sensation that my hair was long enough to pull into a ponytail but it wasn’t. Going to a wig store was not out of the question.

I Am Rosemary’s Granddaughter Chapter 20: “Homeward Bound”

I knew it wasn’t a nightmare. Tragically, there was no way to just click my heels three times or wish upon a star to reverse it all. It was all real, every word he spoke, every fallen tear. As long as I kept my eyes closed and thought of nothing, all was well...I’m sure there were some heavy meds involved as well.
I woke up in a strange place with my hands restrained and a brace on my arm. My legs were bound too.
“Where am I?”

I Am Rosemary’s Granddaughter Chapter 19: “Most of All”

“So, they’re still going to perform the play?” Mike’s voice still had a tiredness to it.
“Yes, I think it’s a great tribute for her.”
“You would’ve performed it all yourself if they didn’t.”
“You’re right,” I replied.

Danny was on the other side of the room on his computer.
“I wish you could see it.”
“We could come and break you out of the hospital?”

Stumbles Of Love Part 4

Seeing Erin oh so casually bring forth that little flame, then snuff it out, showed that there did seem to be magic still in the world.

She and Erin sat in the kitchen at the gorgeous oak table, chatting over cups of tea just like many often do in the early evenings.

"I've been wondering, Erin," Stasia inquired, "Just how long have you been able to do magic?"

I Am Rosemary's Granddaughter Chapter 17: "Miss You"

I had several dreams during the night.
Not all of them were nightmares, but they came close as they all revolved around real people in my life. I couldn't recall anything that they said, but it was more of their expressions—the lifeless, dead expressions they had with every face that flashed in my head. My parents, teachers, Karen Anne, Dick, maybe even Elvis, I don’t know…but they all stood along a line that lead to a door and ultimately closed it on me.

I Am Rosemary's Granddaughter Chapter 16: "Life"

I stood in the midst of what was once my “home”—or at least my home away from home for the school year. Everything was torn to ribbons; quite literally—as if the perpetrators were a regiment of renegade, pissed-off seamstresses with scissors in hand. Whoever did it wasn't seen by anybody—or maybe no one cared to get involved.
Every stitch of clothing we owned, destroyed.
Our books, sliced.

The clock on the wall silently ticked away as Francis sat on his bed, thinking. Just where, exactly, had things began to go wrong? When had his life began to horribly unravel?

Was it when he first realized, at four, that he was different from the other little boys in his play group?

Atalanta's Story Continued: Reaching Home Chapter 21

As a reminder in chapter 20 Atalanta Manny, and Sam left for Washington DC stopping in Baltimore for Sam to visit an old friend. Action picks up in this chapter. This is a long chapter but I didn't want to cut it up into smaller ones as I can't seem to post on a regular schedule. I want to thank Ashleigh again for her editing skills. I really hope you enjoy this chapter.

I Am Rosemary's Granddaughter Chapter 15: "Bigger Than Me"

I ran across campus to the dorm parking lot; hoping that maybe he went with Danny and left the car…even though I still didn't have a license. The car wasn't there and I had to wonder if I could run four miles or so to the hospital, across a bridge filled with heavy traffic. I decided I could that and possibly swim across the Tennessee River if push came to shove.

Aaron -Chapter 14 Both Sides Now

The rest of the summer was probably the best time of my life (up to that point). We met a girl next door also named “Amie”, and a girl across the street name “Jamie”. Amie’s dad was a doctor and Jamie’s mom was an attorney. Her mom was engaged and, even though her parents were divorced, Jamie’s dad also lived there in a separate part of the house. The girls were a few years older than us, and both were headed for Rice University at the end of the summer. Still, they accepted our invitations to come to the pool with us.
