Actress dame Angela Lansbury passed away today.

It was her onscreen character Jessica fletcher that first inspired me to try to write. The quaint little town Cabot cove, which didn’t exist back then, really appealed to me.

But I watch other stuff from back then and realize many of the things I aspire to be current, real, or beautiful are from around that time.

I prefer eighties clothing, music, cars, movies over even new stuff.

Seeing prominent actors and actresses that made up my youth pass away hurts.

In Canada we celebrated thanksgiving yesterday. During the dinner others gave thanks while I cried.

They say that one day the sorrow of losing loved once’s becomes less. For me each new beloved person that dies just adds to the tears.

So sad.

I think my very first introduction to Dame Angela was as a young child with Bedknobs and Broomsticks. Loved it the first time I saw it and ever since. As an adult it made me look into more of her work and I found others which I enjoyed, but nothing like my first love of hers.

Rest well, Dame Angela, you will always be remembered.

Age Bites in Many Ways

Many of the ones we care about as friends, the ones we love, and so many that made a difference in our life just because they were there pass on living in our memories. There is no alternative, live long enough and too many are lost before it's our turn. I can't begin to fathom what those who have no faith think what happens when someone dies. Do they think life is a light bulb and when it's over that is it? I'm not going to convince anyone there is life after life if they don't already believe.
Angela Lansbury was a convincing actress and had a unique voice, I loved listening to. She will live on forever in young kids hearts and those who are young at heart as they watch her movies. She was one of those who captured a wide range of generations and brought smiles to all.
Hugs Tels, thanks for the update

Life is meant to be lived not worn until it's worn out.

Oklahoma born and raised cowgirl

The first time I saw her…

Was in The Maceurican (sp!)Candidate. I think she was younger than the actor playing her son. Great movie! She had a long, successful life and brought a lot of enjoyment to a lot of people! RIP!!!

Things would be different in our digital age, for starters there would be Jessica Fletcher books on the shelves lol.

There was nothing controversial with her body of work, I’d go as far as to say, if it wasn’t for continuous reruns of Murder She Wrote, I doubt most people would have heard of her.

Although sometimes unexpected, we do expect old people to pass. It’s when people the same age or younger leave this mortal coyle that our mortality is rammed home.

If there is anything beyond this life I hope it’s Valhalla, sounds like just my sort of place, who knows, I might get lucky with Odin or Freya! Angela RIP, may the Gods be with you.

The first role I saw her in was the princess Gwendolyn in The Court Jester alongside Danny Kaye, Basil Rathbone, Michael Pate and others

Makes Me Laugh Everytime

The pellet with the poison's in the vessel with the pestle; the chalice from the palace has the brew that is true!

No!!!!

They broke the chalice from the palace.

They replaced it with a flagon with the figure of a dragon

The pellet of the poison is in the flagon of the dragon. The vessel of the pestle is the brew that is true

I'm 60 next month. I remember

I'm 60 next month. I remember actors and actresses dying when I was a kid and wondering why it was such a big thing for my parents.
Now I know. It is like losing a part of your youth. While these people still live, your past doesn't seem so far away.

I watched the new Top Gun last week and was shocked that it was 1986. I was 24!

Angela was a person that never seemed to age. She did not look much different in Bedknobs 1971, than she did in the Murder she wrote, 1996.

Murder she wrote used to make me laugh. 296 episodes and people die wherever she went. Jessica Fletcher must have a record for being the unluckiest guest you could ever have.

Top Gun

My brother-in-law went through Top Gun -- out of the Naval Academy. He was a navigator (like Goose). He said the flying scenes were true to life.

Unluckiest guest

I think their was a satirical piece (in print or on the tele, can't remember) about that and at the end it was found that it was Jessica the whole time and got away with it ^_^
