Reading while injured

Printer-friendly version

This weekend I had real-life plans, then I took a tumble. Nothing too serious, but lots of bruises, a couple skinned knees and a sprained wrist (I landed hard). Despite the pain, I'm glad I fell; because I used my now "free" time to read the Maiden by Decree series by Maggie Finson.

Somehow, when this series came out (the Epilog came out in July 2010) I missed the opportunity to partake of this literary offering. BIG mistake.

It was serendipity that I found it Saturday and a massive pleasure to spend much of Saturday and Sunday reading. Action, comedy, "real" characters, a great plot and Sarcasm - yes folks, this story has it all!

Kudos do not express appropriately how much fun this story is to read.

Run, do not walk, and read (re-read) this series. It is time very well spent.

I'm glad you're not too badly

I'm glad you're not too badly injured. I wish you well and hope you recover quickly.

Yes, I've read Maiden by Decree by Maggie Finson twice in the last 18 months. It's an excellent story and I'm glad you're enjoying it.

Maiden by Decree

Aye, 'tis a fabulous read. Definitely on par with or better than most published fantasy. Angie "Kitn" Hughes' and Darkice's The Rusted Blade is also utterly fabulous.
