and they taketh away!
After a mediumish walk on Monday, I set out yesterday (Tuesday) into a bright sunny morning, the temperature already high teens when I departed. I wasn't looking at going a huge distance, it was too nice and warm to go flogging myself for no particular reason so I sought out a few dead ends to explore. However the aforementioned God's decided to have a laugh at my expense, just you wait Loki!
Yep, on the driest day of the year I had an off crossing a ford on the first of the no through lanes, yes it was a ford but it was almost bone dry, in fact my meeting with terra very firma didn't even result in getting me wet! It did rip a new hole in my arm and more scrapes on my bad leg (obs) which meant a cut short ride, it was uncomfortable and my thuse was no longer en-ed. A day later and the leg is distinctly uncomfortable - okay I've had a decent walk today but its looking like tomorrows ride will be shelved - grr!
So the score since September last year is a dislocated shoulder after unexpected flying incident involving a dropped manhole, scrapes and bruises from a low speed tumble due to a dithering driver @ 6 weeks ago and now more loss of skin and lumps and bumps from a dry but slippery ford. Me - and the bike, are getting a bit weary of these close encounters of the tarmac kind, I don't bounce too well these days and it hurts!
Today's Gaby chapter, What’s up Doc? is part 31 of The Visitors, Its not all fun at the Sheffield Con and a visit to the doctor has some unsettling results.
With any luck I'll be back on form by the weekend,
take care,
