( my older sister's mom in law's first name is Dorothy. :p )

my niece did actually say that, to her paternal grandma, in response to being asked if she wanted to sleep with a 'charity bear'. ( white teddy bear produced for a charity fundraising item )

this was the same day I watched her walk up to my younger brother and state "Uncle Alan, you're a dickhead", then she walked around him and into the kitchen.

I'd definitely call it a compliment coming from a kid that age.
Their concept of what's old is often pretty hazily defined.
Coming from a 25 year old probably not so much.

for a five year old to see you and call you grandma is a great complement.

Kids are THE HARDEST to pass around. It means he sees the woman you are. Kids take clues you don't even know you are putting out.
And they speak their mind without filters that we develop as we grow up.

So grandma! Smile with pride and stand up straight boobies out and head high. You have been given a medal and now you need to grow to deserve it.
