We're about 2/3 of the way through 'The Interview', with the story getting ready to start winding down, but I had planned to do some expanded meta things, like blog posts, news articles, etc, to help flesh out the story. Unfortunately, I just found out that when I do that, BC moderators will actually remove the mainline story from the front page, meaning people won't see the latest installment. If anyone cared, Chapter 15 was released yesterday...and is now moved off. That being said, no more blog posts, I'll just finish the story and then go wallow in self pity that I couldn't tell the entire thing, no big deal.

Now anyway, I will say that The Interview will be my final story here on BC for a few reasons. The first is that it doesn't get that much interaction, the second is that every single time I post anything, I get this one person who verbally abuses me in the comments everytime something happens in terms of character development that they don't like. Somehow the moderators are cool with that, but I don't need to deal with it.

The Interview has always been a story about dysphoria, fear, and society's need to oppress trans people. What you take away from it is up to you, but another important facet is that things aren't always what they seem. Sometimes the greatest allies can turn out to be frauds while your enemies can be the biggest help to you. I also don't want to finish this blog post so

Sad... your stories are a gift...

Please keep writing stories.

Thank you for sharing the problem. I hope that you find an agreeable solution so that I can somehow continue to read your stories...

Thanks,
A.

Please stay strong and keep on writing here

Firstly thanks for this great story, I’ve really enjoyed reading it and thought the blog was an interesting way forward. In fact I was enjoying the story so much it made me register just to encourage you to stay strong.

Having grown up reading the great old dystopian sci-fi authors I got a feeling of the spirit of this story and always thought that the characters would be more than the 2 dimensional caricatures they first appear to be.

I think the comments you are receiving are because your writing is hitting too close to home For some people and is causing them discomfort. This should not reflect badly on your story, think what we would have missed if George Orwell had started writing Animal Farm or 1984 in this format only to be put off by the odd discouraging comment.

Anyway, sorry for the rambling post and please keep on being true to your story.

PLEASE DON'T GO!

Audrissa "The Interview" is a fantastic story and to me points out a lot of struggles in life. Please reconsider and keep posting on BC. If you leave you will be truly missed.

Some notes

erin's picture

We get lots of stories being posted and limited room on the front page, so we have to limit each story to one episode on the front page at a time. If you want to include extra stuff between chapters, one way to do it would be to attach those things to an actual chapter rather than making them a separate post.

Also, if someone is posting comments you don't feel are fair to you or the story, please call our attention to this. You own your story and comments not privileged to abuse authors.

Hugs,
Erin
