So, I found out my aunt died today. I'm kind of numb right now.

Sorry I know I haven't been very active on her for the last while. Got really caught up with the trans community on twitter.

I've been there, that numbness will fade and you'll start to grieve. It's probably going to be hard emotionally, and physically to some degree as well. Talking about it and remembering the good things about her and her life could help, it sometimes makes it feel as if the person isn't really gone so long as you can still remember them. Just remember that you have friends here who will be there for you if and when you need it. I'll send whatever positive energy that I can spare your way.

*big hugs*

Never Goodbye

BarbieLee's picture

When we move or family and friends move there are usually tears and loss felt in our heart if we cared about them. "I know how you feel." are the most illogical words anyone can say to another. No one can truly feel how another person feels. Possibly the closest any could come to the truth are identical twins and or soul mates.
Cherish the memories and keep on keeping on. It's okay to cry or maybe stop for quiet moments to take out the memories and go through them again. One thing I have learned in all these years, life and death comes at us and past us. It is all a part of living our own lives. Those we love and share our life with enrich our own lives many times over as our life experience gets polished.

I have lost my fair share of friends and family.......

Some that I regret, some not so much. Some that I feel responsible for, some that were beyond my control, some that may even be my fault.

They say that time heals all wounds. In my experience it may add some distance, but the pain remains. How do you heal that which cannot be healed? How do you put behind that which makes you who you are?

The one thing that I have learned that helps is that as long as you keep those you love, those you care about, in your heart and in your thoughts you will never truly lose them. If you keep the memory of them alive, they will never truly be gone.

My heart is full of those I have lost, and I will never forget them.
