Stay cool if you can (I just douse myself with
the garden hose and sit in front of the fan
every couple of hours, as needed;
and only wear clothes when I go
collect the mail, if even then...)

The Great Canyon Fire in General

And an hour after I announced that all was safe
+ I foresaw no big surprises this month the power
went out and we got an evacuation warning-
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
about a brushfire that came close enough
to roast marshmallows from our porch...

My sister, her visiting ex and I had our bags
packed and sat on the deck drinking warm beer
(the aforementioned power outage) listening to Reckless Kelly
watching the helicopters empty big barrels of water onto the blaze
+ arguing abuot if it was time to flee yet; but we lucked out once again.
But I'm sure you've been thru a few of those, it's the West.

Being a Desert Rat, I haven't had to flee many forest fires. :) But I did have to batten down the hatches in front of a hurricane -- in California no less. Three times!!!

This is the second month in a row where a lot of the core donors have had to double donate.

It can't keep up this way and eventually I think the only way to make it clear to potential readers is that if the donation goal is not being met, then this page that does nothing stays up until it is fully funded.

Erin has been generous with dealing with this nonsense for as you say there are probably plenty of readers but a lot just freeload.
