I've got a paperback copy of this tucked away somewhere. It's well worth reading though not entirely uplifting. Apparently, according to the web site containing 'I want What I Want', my paperback is valuable :)

...but very true to the times (1960's) it was set in. Wendy had no community, no support, only people telling her she was crazy
and trying to put her in the loony bin. Only she knew who she was. I WANT WHAT I WANT is a great novel, much better
than the usual tawdry exploitation fare of its day. And---wouldn'tcha know?---the first t.g. fiction I ever read.
