Writing & posting plans

Well, I finally got a story up. It's probably not very good, I've been writing it in bits and pieces for two or three months now, but it's up. I'm still not back in the groove, but my muse is back and talking! Still having some trouble getting the stories written, but I think that's mostly just a matter of being out of practice.

I've got a short standalone waiting to post, and a few unfinished stories, so I have plenty of material to work with. I'll be posting 1, and only 1, story every 7 days for now. Well, that's the plan, anyway. That way I'll build up a buffer without putting a lot of pressure on myself like I did before. Once I've got a nice big buffer and a better idea of how much I'll be writing, I'll change that to every 6 days. Hopefully I'll get that down to 4 days or better, but that depends on how much I can reliably get done.

I'll be rotating what I post, so there won't be two chapters of the same story right after each other. That way I should be able to keep all of my stories moving, if slowly. I'll break them up with a few standalone stories as they're available for variety. Since I already have a 1 story buffer, I should be able to post reliably even if I have a slow start. Two weeks should be enough to get something done! After all, I was posting every day for a while. Sometimes two or three in one day, in fact.

I'm not entirely satisfied with where Venus Cursed! has been going, so it may take a little longer before the next chapter of it goes up as I go back through it and decide what I want to do. I'm definitely not ending it yet, though! POWYHL will have at least 1 more chapter (A big chunk of which has been sitting on my hard drive for several months). I'll probably be ending it there or shortly thereafter, but I have ideas for further stories in that universe.

Well, that's about it for my little status update, but if anybody has any suggestions for improving Tiger by the Tail (or any of my other stories, for that matter), I'll gladly hear them.

Sorry for the long delay!

Saless

Finally! You're back and in action!

Yay!

For somebody who came here and joined us during Saless' dry spell - she was, for several months, one of the most prolific authors here (approximately .3 AQ*), and I enjoyed her works greatly!

.3?!

Only .3?! Come on Faraway, I was posting every day for like two months! Surely I could get .5, at least! ;)

Thanks Faraway, it's nice to be back in action!

::A carefully measured response::

:P

But on a little more serious note, this number is on par with statistics analysis that 95% of statistics are made up. ;)

Statistics

Strange, I always thought it was 83.7% of statistics that were made up on the spot... :)

Any reason ..

Any reason your not taking a standalone approach verse serialization. Although I know serialization seems to be the norm here it does have many pitfalls. Like not being able to complete rewrite sections that are not working.

I like comments!

Seriously, I like having the feedback as I go along, it can be really helpful and give me all sorts of good ideas.

Also, if I weren't so lazy, I could go back and edit, or even completely rewrite anything I want, one of the many benefits of posting here! :)

Makes sense..

Makes sense .. guess i'm just the fan of the lump sum approach so everything done and you can spend a couple week polishing and refining.

yeaaaaaaaaaaa

Your back. We missed you and were worried about you. Don't ever scare us like that again. My girl friend used to read Venus Cursed to me every night to help me sleep. And when you stoped writing them we both got worried about you. We hope you feel better and post another VC soon. Thanks for the stories, love Heather and Renee

Awwww

Thanks Renee, and Heather! You made my day! :)

Sorry for scaring and worrying you, that's the last thing I wanted to do. I worry, too, when an author I like suddenly stops posting, so I'm really sorry about that. I can't make any promises about how soon I'll post another VC, but it will definitely happen!

Saless

P.S. She read VC to help you sleep? That wasn't because they're...boring, was it? ;)
