I used to have a search field on the home page, it no longer shows up in Firefox nor IE... haven't had any other problems displaying any pages... is the search function gone? thanks.

Throttling the search

When the site is particularly busy, the search function goes away. It helps reduce too heavy hits on the database.

There was another problem with Search, fixed now.

Erin

Does searching through google cause speeed issues? Thanks and hugs

No problem searching with google

Google crawls the site about twice a day and updates their own database so they don't hit ours. I'd put a google search box on the site but google thinks this is an adult site and won't allow it.

if I remember corectly,

which is doubtful, than '*:bigclosetr.us/topshelf'. where * = your search items (and 'bigcloset...' could be replaced by any URL, and the single quotes don't really exist) is a site specific google search; it's the colon that is important and gets you there.

I've only done this while following specific instructions, or doing cut and paste, on other sites, so maybe someone more tech savvy might endorse or correct this.

Aha

It's back now! I'll remember that, that when it's gone the site is probably just busy. Thanks Erin. :)

OH

It's gone again. Busy already. LOL.
