Hey everybody,
I've been thinking about writing a Star Trek TG story set in the STO timeline. Would anyone be interested in reading it?
Don't worry, I will finish Tell Me Your Secrets and Maiden of Magic first.

STO timeline?
Is that a misprint of "TOS" timeline (The Original Series - Captain Kirk & co)?
Go for it! Most Sci-Fi universes could easily handle a bit of AU TG - although MLP crossovers I'd probably give a miss :)

Star Trek Online
The MMO Star Trek Online (STO) is set after the events of the last movie, with the Romulans, Klingons, and a few other races set against the Humans, Vulcans, and assorted others.
It's WoW in space, but with more customization and star ships.
Which, of course, makes it inherently better :P

Nope not set after events of the last movie as it has borg ships in it.
Borg ain't precluded by following the latest movie :P
It's still set in the ORIGINAL universe, but it follows on the destruction of the Romulan home world, which is a major plot point from the last movie.
So, in a way, I guess both ways of describing it are right.

The last movie
Star Trek 2009 is last movie. This is an alternate universe storyline where Kirk first commands a new enterprise. It was full of plot holes and other errors but it sorta made sense, If you had never seen the original series.
The online game, i have the free version somewhere, is build upon the universe created before the 2009 movie.

The game is completely free now. So, if you want to download and update it, you can hop on and see what's new.
The 2009 movie did have a few plot holes in it, but it was a good movie on the whole and it is probably going to do wonders for the franchise, which is going to be turning 46 in September.

With special abilities focusing mostly on ship repair and exploration, since that's what I expect to end up doing most of the time when I get the chance to play.
