Desperate Measures should be available the 4th of July at Amazon in a Kindle version, and is available now at Smashwords in all formats. And will be trickling out to Barnes & Noble, iBookstore, Kobo, Sony Reader.

Desperate Measures links two stories that I've posted on BCTS: "On The Run", and "Just A Costume", following the family's flight, the transition of the children, and, of course, a Happy Ending for all. Except for the dead people. It has been extensively revised and expanded from the BCTS version (over 80,000 words now!) and joins Breath of Life and Sail Away as BCTS stories now available as ebooks.

I hope you enjoy them!
Karin

PS: For those unfamiliar with Smashwords; they are now the largest ebook supplier to Apple! Read about them in Forbes:

Support our authors

I'll purchase them when they become available. It's the best way to say thank you for all the hard work we authors do. I think half of my Kindle is filled with Karin Bishop, Tanya Allan, Nancy Cole and of course my story, Assassin. Was that a shameless plug? Seriously, we don't make that much money from sales but when the royaly check arrives from sales it validates what we do. Arecee

Dress Code, too!

Simplified things somewhat and managed to get Dress Code prepped (another BCTS story, revised). Should be up at Amazon and Smashwords by the Fourth, as well!

PS: Forgot to mention that you have to Deactivate the Adult Filter to see many authors' books on Smashwords ...

hi

Hi
By publishing on smashwords does it mean copies of your work must not be in the public domain like on bcts? or should they be revised first?

Stories posted on BCTS are

Stories posted on BCTS are NOT in the public domain! They are copyrighted by the authors. They are, however, available here at no cost. That's an important distinction.

{I leave a trail of Kudos as I browse the site. Be careful where you step!}

Can you be more specific?

So I went to Smashwords and looked for "Desperate Measures", without success. Can you help me please? Are you publishing as Karen?

:)

Sadly ...

... whilst Smashwords is a good source for books (particularly as there is a huge choice of formats) I have yet to discover an effective Search function. Even searching for an author through the alphabetical list is a tedious nightmare as there is no fast track to a particular letter and it it's not clear if the list uses first or last names.

If I'm being a dummy and there is a usable search function I'd be delighted to be corrected.

I don't need to tell anyone that Karin's books are well-worth searching for but remember to save her in your 'My Smashwords' account.

That #*&$! Pesky Adult Filter!

First of all, a big thank you to Piper for the link directly to my author page at Smashwords. I actually hadn't visited the thing until I tried the link!

Secondly, to all venturing into Smashwords: Turn off the Adult Filter!

When the home page loads, go to the bottom of the featured books; on the right will be "Covers Off" (a strange choice to me, but whatever), and the all-important "Deactivate Adult Filter".

Definitely deactivate the thing and you'll find, well, the "adult stuff"--including my works, because we're all adults, right?

But Piper's link takes you directly in the back door, so to speak, and thank you again!
