I just finished reading through 'Rebirth' on FM, posted today by an author that goes by the name of kyrtap64.

It's remarkably good, with an amazingly low level of spelling/grammar mistakes. It also isn't quite complete - it looks to be at a reasonable stopping point, but there are a lot of things that can go on in a sequel. The TG is pervasive, but you aren't beaten over the head and shoulders with reminders every few pages; this makes for a much smoother read.

I don't have, nor will I have, an FM account, so this is the best I can do, unless it gets posted here as well. :)

FM account?

never had one, never needed one, didn't know they offered them

They have a registered

They have a registered hyperboard.

I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.

FM's Hyperboard registration

You don't have to register to post on the hyperboard, but your posts will be moderated. Registered user's posts are posted right away.

There is no such thing as an Fictionmania account. The stories are free for all to read.

Rebirth is a good story

You do not need a membership to read FM's stories. Just do a search on new stories to see what has been posted over the past number of days.

You can find a fair number of authors who either choose not to post here on BCTS or do not know about it.
It is worth checking out.

Good (long) story on FM.

Maybe Sephrina or Erin will ask the author to post here.

I tried to read it ...

... but it was so densely written and poorly constructed I gave up. I realised I was already skipping big sections whilst searching for a narrative that made some sense before deciding even my life is too short. There was a lot of 'telling' rather than 'showing' coupled with lots of tedious repetition. A serious edit might rescue it.

A pity, as I like long stories but this wasn't one I was prepared to read.

btw there's no such thing as an FM account apart from registering to post on the Hyperboard and that's not a necessity. Even Erin has a Hyperboard registration :) I do like the simple, uncluttered layout of FM but I've grown to tolerate and even like the clutter here :) Just joking, Erin.

i'm the opposite

One of the things that keep me from going to fictionmania (Even though I do port a story over there now and then) is its layout. It's a task just to do anything, especially commenting and replying. I do like the search for a story feature, but their list of tags is so long it borders on insanity.
