This is my response to someone who mentioned people looking at my facebook page and seeing me dressed as a woman:
Here is the deal, so people know. It is not that I am dressing like a woman, so please don't refer to my pictures as me dressing as a woman. I am not wearing a costume and I am not playing a role. I am dressing like myself and I am a woman. By saying that you are looking at pictures of me dressed as a woman cheapens my existence.
Today I stayed home. I lent my friend my car and my van won't start. I think (hope) it is out of gas. It turns over and then immediately cuts off. That or a clogged fuel filter. Who knows? Also, I think I want to meet someone. I have a strong desire for intimacy (not sex, though, I wouldn't mind). I really would like a pair of arms to hold me and it would be way too weird if it was my friend John's.

make 100% sure of any guy before putting yourself in such a vulnerable position. As for you being "dressed as a woman", its probably more a language problem than a lack of respect. You were dressed as you, the person you actually are, and no longer dressing like the male mask you used to pretend to be. Hugs.
You are a woman
I think you pass very well. We both know people do not really understand, but that is more their problem, not ours. You are much further ahead than I am, but my time is coming. I have noticed some slight soreness on my breasts as the HRT is starting to take effect. Yay!
You might think about changing the picture on your avatar, it doesn't look much like you now.

I thought I did, but it was on facebook. Ooops. It looks like I might have found a sister for the journey. I know a lot of people here can't stand me, I am pretty sure I am on at least 2 people's ignore list and I'm being carefully watched, but I am changing by leaps and bounds. I feel... of, what's the word, it's odd and it's been a while, HAPPY!!! I FEEL HAPPY!!! I FEEL hip-hoppity happy.

Dear Katie:
I know that the silly ditty about "Sticks and Stones" is totally wrong. A broken arm likely heals quicker then the wounds a word inflicts on a broken psyche or ego or soul.
That being said, before you allow a word to harm you, look at who says it and what they may mean.
Katie, how were you dressed in the picture on face book?
You were dressed as Katie should dress. In that picture, if it is the same or similar to one you posted here, the person, pictured there is wearing a dress. Despite the stories here, men do not wear dresses. Women wear dresses. The person Katie, was wearing a dress. Therefore Katie was dressed as a woman.
Celebrate that. Celebrate that the person pictured there is a woman. If you passed someone in the street, they would see a woman. Don't knock it. Celebrate it.
