Today's the day!

Well this is it chaps and chapesses. Today's the day Pen and I finally tie the knot, make everything official and get wedded.

I'd like to say that I shall no longer be young, free and single, but in truth, my youth disappeared a long time ago - although compared to some, I've managed to weather the storm of life pretty well and don't look like a bloke in his fifties. Plus, I've not been free and single since 13th July 1987, which is when Pen and I first got together - and that was by choice.

I suppose we should have done this a long time ago, but well, you know, we didn't want to rush into anything.

So at some point shortly after four-thirty this afternoon in a little registry office somewhere in Dorset, Pen will become Mrs. Nick B and all that entails.

We're both looking forward to it and in a break with tradition, we will not be jetting off to warmer climes on our honeymoon, but buggering off to our French house for a fortnight. Sadly, knowing Pen, this will not be a relaxing break, but an opportunity for her to get the whip out (metaphorically speaking) and get me doing loads of DIM (Do It Myself) jobs prior to our permanent move there on the 1st of May.

From Some point on Saturday, I will have to disconnect the computer, as it serves as our TV in Froggy land (having a TV card, which is handy, but I'm determined to buy a TV along with a Blu-Ray home cinema system and a washing machine some time during our stay), as well as having Blender on for 3D design of the house (I have already created a 3D model and we've decorated it in various different styles, most of which will have to be scrapped due to not having the funds for such ambitious ideas), so will be off-line for the duration.

In the meantime, you're all put on notice not to piss Erin or the gang off in my absence or I will be sorely vexed with you all.

Until such time,

Nick B

Thanks, Kaleigh

It's a small step for man, but a giant step for this man.

Hey-ho...

Actually, I'm more nervous about the moving to France bit.

Have a big hug back :)

Happy for you...

Awwwww ... Thanks 'Drea

Another twenty-five years, d'you think?

I guess it's possible if we live that long!

Hugs

Nick

I wish you the love that I have found, with more acceptance...

You're still young, though you can't see it yet. So I wish you another 30 or 40, joyously happy years. I wish you youngsters all the happiness in the world...

Bless you,

Ole

I think I have, Ole

Thank you for your well wishes. We're looking forward to our holiday now.

Many happy!

I suppose we should have done this a long time ago, but well, you know, we didn't want to rush into anything.

Lessee... 2013-1987 = 26. No, I think you are utterly cleared of any possible accusations of rushing.

May y'all's next 52 be exponentially better than the last 26!

Um, Nick, a couple things and CONGRADS BTW

ONE: I thought my parents were slow off the mark with their four year engagement or my sister with her almost ten and still running engagement but TWENTY-SIX YEARS?

TWO: As to the whip being metaphorical...are you sure?

You ARE living in France now.

Bet the wife has a leather corset, thigh high high-heeled boots, thong, spiked choker, case of dramatic makeup, a riding crop and bull whip hiding under the bed. All that new constriction ... a dungeon.

If she has any books by the Marquise De Sade on her nightstand that is a sign.
