So yesterday I started my petition to Amazon. I really should have done it much sooner because it is something that frustrates me to no end. Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Smashwords etc. have no dedicated transgender fiction genre and expect us to lump our work either under gay and lesbian or erotica. I don't think either is fair or right. But Amazon isn't going to do something solely for me, so I got organized.

So far I have 36 signatures. That's a good start. But there should be much more. Even if you don't buy from amazon, this effects you and the community. We need to educate the world that being transgender is not about sex and the only way to do that is being able to stand on our own. I am imploring this community to get involved. I am also asking authors who market their non-erotic titles on Amazon to reach out to their fan base. We can do this. Let's hit a hundred signatures by this weekend so we can take it to the next level.

Let's all help Katie!

As I said in a comment on Fictionmania, this is actually something I could do to help without shifting my fat arse, so I was pleased to sign this petition.

As a very new member here one thing I have realised is that the 'core membership' of Big Closet very much considers itself to be a community, if not a family. So come on, people, act like a community, and rally round and support Katie by signing this petition!
