Here is a video I found showing a family coming to terms and accepting their new son, in order for him not to become a statistic but to live a happy life being who he is.

Beautiful

Just finished watching the video and I'm having trouble writing this as tears of happiness for this child and his wonderful parents stream down my face.

Sarah Ann, I felt the same

Sarah Ann, I felt the same way and you can see the parents support for their son throughout the video. I am sad that you cannot comment on the video as the parents have disabled comments because I would tell them how wonderful it is that they love and support their son.

All I can say is WOW. Thank God (or whatever deity you believe in/or not) as the tears fall down my cheeks. That is wonderful and inspiring.

Thanks for sharing it.

You're welcome Mark. I was

You're welcome Mark. I was so moved by it and had to show it. I found it on Yahoo, but now Queerty has it on their site also. I think it is great that they put their son's happiness above everything else I wish more parents could be like this.

A supportive family makes all the difference.

I knew at 4 years old but he murdered my spirit. Family continues to persecute me and those like me. I wonder if they will realize that they murdered me again when I am gone?

Some places say they accept us and pretend to love us but in the end it is just an act. How do they expect us to survive with that?

I knew at three, when I

I knew at three, when I remember thinking I should have been born a girl since I liked everything that girls did and had to be forced to play with boys. I remember hearing my mother explain me as going through a phase. Gwen, the only thing I can tell you is you just go on the best you can and become who you are.

jengrl, I agree with you.

jengrl, I agree with you. Yes Ryland looks so happy after the transition. I love the father's reaction at the end of the clip, I think that speaks volumes.

Acceptance

even at the early stages of childhood you know who and what you are. So good to have a happy child and parents who except the young persons wishes to be who they are . Lovely youtube clip THANKS for posting the story

I agree Portia and that was

I agree Portia and that was what prompted me to share this, because a lot of parents ignore it and try to make their child be who they are not. These parents took the time to learn the statistics and then decided they wanted what was best for their son and I really can see the love they have for their son.
