Unfortunatly I Was Born Within the City Limits

Interesting

I was born at the United States Military Academy, West Point NY and my BC is recorded at Highland Falls NY.

Don't remind me

I was born in Manhattan, a borough of NYC *smirk*

Anyway, at the time I had surgery, all they would do is remove the gender marker on my BC *disgusted snort*.

They allow it to be changed to my new gender now BUT you have to do it IN PERSON last time I checked which granted was about 5 years ago or so. Needless to say I don't live in NYC anymore and it is costly to do it as I may have to stay overnight if the one lady who takes care of he matter is not there.

Correction: It now appears it can be done online but you are required to submit a legal name change also (?) What about all those folks who have a gender neutral name (eg Bailey, Ashley, Vivian, Kim, Leslie, Dana etc ) who don't need to have that changed? Not having a legal name change keeps one a bit more 'stealthy' imho. At the time I had it done in person they let me do it without a name change so this requirement for a name change (basically gender neutral name) should be waived in my case since it is grandfathered for my processing.

Anyway, since they have already 'neutered' my gender on my BC, hopefully they will see sense and just do an administrative change (they already had to have surgical documentation when I got 'neutered') and slap the F on it and NO name change.
