Fan meeting
Author's note: Just a little bit of fun to get me back to writing again. Let me know what you think
It had been a long day at work, and I was getting ready to go home when I heard the noise.
Whoosh ... thunk. Woosh .... thunk.
I knew that noise.
It was a sound effect on my favorite tv shows of all time, Dr. Who.
I followed the sound, and there, in the corner of the lunch room beside the Coke machine, was the Doctor’s time machine, the Tardis.
I stared at the thing for a while, and then the door opened, and out came the latest incarnation of the Doctor, saying “Just a moment, going to do a quick tour, find out where we are.”
“Hi.”
He looked up, startled, and then said, “Oh. Hello.”
“Neat trick with the Tardis. Is this some kind of promotion for the new season?”
“New .... season?”
“You ... arent an actor, are you? You’re .. really him. The Doctor.”
“Yes, yes I am. And your name is ... Dorothy, according to your name tag.”
“That’s right.”
“Well, Dorothy. Could I trouble you to tell me where I am?”
“Well, you’re in a Wal Mart just outside of Edmonton, Alberta Canada, and its 2012, if you need to know the year.”
“Ah. Well, that helped a great deal, thank you. I better go, I promised Amy and Rory I would take them to see Julius Ceasar.”
“Well. have fun then.”
He went to leave, and then turned back.
“You said, Edmonton? Canada? And your name is Dorothy?”
“That’s right.”
“Well, that’s brilliant!! I’ve read your novels. I’m ... rather a fan, nice to meet you in person.”
“Novels? I’ve only written one.”
“Yet.” he said, and went back inside his machine, which vanished.
“Well, its always good to meet a fan, I guess.” I said, and got my stuff together so I could go home.
