Today is Thanksgiving Day, and I'd like to take a moment to count the blessings I have been given.

First off is my health. Some very dedicated doctors have kept me going far longer than even the most optimistic projections when I was a baby. Now, there are some who might argue that it's not that good a thing, but I'm not complaining! So Thank You, Dr. Lawrence, Dr. Miller, and especially Dr. Rebecca, my current physician. I suppose I should also thank the various pharmaceutical companies, but my substantial cash "donations" should take care of that! ;-)

Second is my family. I love you all, even the ones who have been unable to accept my changes. But a special Thank You to my brother Mark, who has always been there, always supported me, and even stood with me when I when I made my final decision and had my surgery. I couldn't have done it without you, bro.

Now, to the special friends:

Angel O'Hare: You encouraged me to write, and steered me to this wonderful website. A special hug and some giggles for you! giggle-giggle!

Angharad apGwilym: You're a special person and my sister in all but fact. You've provided a arm of support, and a shoulder to cry on when I needed it. You've given me laughter and deep thoughts. God Bless You!

Jillian Marie: A good friend who has provided comfort and support, as well as allowed me an advanced peek at her wonderful stories. Thank you.

John in Wauwatosa: Another good friend who has helped and aided me; and written the Joanie stories that have given me some much needed laughs at times when I was down. Thanks

Erin Halfelven and Maddy Bell: I'm especially indebted to the both of you. Maddy's wonderful Gaby stories got me actively involved in the TG fiction community. In addition to her wonderful stories, it was her GabyZone Forums that led to my starting to write and brought me here to BC.

Erin, your wonderful website has enabled me to tell the stories that have been backing up in my head for years. It took a site like yours to bring me to putting them out there for others to read. And as a result I've made some wonderful friends.

PB: For sharing your stories with me, and allowing me to help you with them, as well as putting up with my slowness.

Angela Rasch: You've provided some much needed editing of my stories and made me a better writer, something I'm sure many will agree I need! Thank you

Scott Ramsey, Stacygrl, Jaime, Randalynn, Sephrena, Paula D., Julie O., Piper, Taralynn, Janet, Joni, and all the other members here on BC and over on the GabyZone: Thanks for your stories and comments. You've each enriched my life in ways you may never know.

And to all those I haven't mentioned, it's undoubtedly my blonde memory at work. My apologies for leaving you off this admittedly incomplete list.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Love & Hugs!
Karen J.

I was working myself into a serious holiday funk and you snapped me out of it. :)

Best wishes to you and yours, and to the whole Big Closet family, Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you, Karen

For including me as a friend. Gee, I get to say this in two different places :) It's been an absolute pleasure getting to know you. Thank you for being you.

A Belated Thankyou

Didn't see this until now, the 30th.

Thanks Karen, your a good writer -- maybe better than that -- and you have a wonderful sense of humor, which I appreciate.

I hope you continue to beat those estimates of your life expectancey and live many more reasonably healthy years. My surviving sister has asthma and I see all she has to do to stay healthy -- your CF must be no picnic. It's a triubute to you, your doctors and others who helped care for you over the years that you are alive and kicking.

I look forward to seeing more of your writing as soon as your muse and RL permit.

Hugs Karen J. :)

I hope maybe I have done some thing right! You are one of my top 5 favorite authors of all time so you do mean a lot to me :) Merry Christmas to! Look forward to more of your amazing tales.

Thank You So Much Karen J!

It is my firm belief that we all have our stories locked inside of us. It sometimes takes a knock, a gentle push, sometimes a nudge, and sometimes a good hard kick on that locked door to get a person to open it and begin to share what is behind it.

When they do, each and every time I rejoice! I always offer to help because I know how scary it can be! Erin (Mom) did exactly that for me and I just want to pass it on. Pass it on is a big thing here at the Big Closet! It is what makes this site so great, so loving, and it really is a family! A family of people helping each other by freely giving of themselves. Who could ask for more than that?

Welcome to the Family Karen J.
