Well, I was the Crucifer three weeks ago. I was not scheduled, but one of the girls was absent, so Jerri, The lady in charge of Acolytes asked me to help. Well, I was happy to, even though I was still scared. The service went off with out a hitch.

The next Sunday, I was scheduled to perform. I was amazed that I was to do it twice in a row. Now, after two performances, I was more at ease about being in the public eye. It went well, but our illustrious pastor did not allow me enough time to get ready.

Because I sweat so much under the robe, Jerri has me disrobe and dress up after the sermons end. Max was too quick, so I had to carry the cross back without my gloves.

When I got there today, Jerri asked me to perform again. THIS time, I was ready. Max won't catch this Crucifer flat footed again. I got ready when I sensed he was about to end instead of waiting.

Well, last Sunday, we were again an Acolyte short. I was going to be the Crucifer again, but Halley decided do the job: she was scheduled to anyway. Well, I let her know that I was not mad about it. No, to me it is the girls show. I am simply there to help.

Last Sunday was World Communion Sunday. So, we had Communion then. Halley and Jessie helped with the Communion. It was a special treat NOT to be a part of the service. I was simply a member of the congregation.

I have come a long way ever since I was the Crucifer the first time. Then I was scared that I would mess up: Now, I am confident that I can do it. And the congregation appreciates my efforts too.

This Sunday, I was scheduled to be the Crucifer again. Jerri let me know that I am scheduled to be Crucifer again next week. Thing is, she will be away at a family reunion while my Church celebrates Homecoming.

Well, I guess she trusts me to do a good job with the girls. But then i am an adult.

I always thought crucifer was something about cabbage, well you live and learn!

Angharad

Say WHAT?

Angharad, how in the heck did cabbage ever come up? Boy, what some people think makes me wonder . But then I have said and done things that have shocked others too.

Cabbage, mustard, turnips, etc.

Are known as cruciferous vegetables or crucifers because the four-petaled flowers resemble crosses.

Erin, I Never Knew That

Why do I have the feeling you were laughing when you commented? Well, I got a good chuckle. Thanks Erin
